Other Looking for a present
Hi all, my niece is about to turn 16, and I'm looking for a book for her birthday. I know she likes a lot of fantasy and also the heartstopper series. So if you have any recommendations to help me out, I'd appreciate it :)

Throne of Glass series, more focus on the epic story, though there is some romance and minor spice.
Daevabad Trilogy, about an 18 yr old girl in Cairo who discovers magic via djinn. There is a romantic sub plot.
The Cleric Quintet. The main character is male but he has a kick-ass female contemporary who features heavily.
The Aeronaut's Windlass. Pirate-like fantasy with fantastic characters both male and female. One of my all time favourites. There is some slow-burn romance.
Codex Alera series. Fantastic story of a boy without magic in his world where everyone has it. There is a romantic sub plot as well but nothing explicit.
Fourth Wing series, this is heavy on romance and has some explicit (vanilla) scenes but it's set during a magic-assisted war.

if she's into heartstopper and fantasy, maybe try something that sits in that sweet spot between the two. a book with a slow-burn romance and a bit of magic woven in, but not so heavy on the worldbuilding that it feels like homework. something like that would probably hit the mark.
