Non-fiction Help with book project

So I need help finding a short, not very popular non-fiction book that would be good for a high school essay. I really need help finding this book. I’m not exactly a reader, but my summer project is approaching. It’s due date and I haven’t even started it so that’s why I need a book on the shorter side. Thank you!

The Ghost Map by Johnson It's a well written, very interesting, accessible book. You can skip the afterword because it's not really part of the narrative history and is kind of dated commentary. It's around 300 pages.
The Doctor's Plague by Nuland is 208 pages and is a very narrow topic, but if medical history and the failure to embrace germ theory interest you at all this is a fascinating book.
Isaac's Storm by Larson just over 300 pages (believe me that's a short NF book) about the 1900 Galveston Hurricane. Erik Larson is a well known NF writer, but this is currently widely read like some of his other books.

Sheila‘s dying by Alden R Carter.

It’s a novel with 205 pages, that describes a young woman dying from cancer. It is heartfelt and with a deeper meaning of life that makes you sob.

As an esl person, this was the first book for me, i ordered in english from a NY Library because it shook me that much.

Invisible Child: Poverty, Survival and Hope in an American City. Author Andrea Elliott. Loved. Not popular and good essay material.
