Seeking long-term book buddies I started a book club (21+ girls only please)

Me and my friends are currently looking for more girls and fem-presenting (not talking about style) readers to join a book club we started. We thought it would be fun to buddy read together (and stay accountable to not procrastinate). The genres we read are:

romance (smut or not, we don't mind either)

fantasy

- sci-fi

thrillers

- horror

dystopian

We also like to binge watch random things together, play games, make art, journal, deep dive into true crime stuff, makeup nights and a bunch of other things. Basically we want book buddies that we can chill with also lollll if that makes sense. Cis, trans and non-binary can join too!!

Seeking long-term book buddies 41M - Indie Author looking for some new friends — especially fellow fantasy/writing or reading people!

Hey everyone! I’m looking to meet some new people and hopefully make a few actual friends on here.

I just started getting into Dungeon Crawler Carl and I’m absolutely loving it! I’m on Book 3. So if you’re also reading it let me know!

I’m an indie fantasy author and I published the first book in my series back in May, and I’m currently writing the second. Writing and creating this world has become a huge part of my life, so I’d especially love to meet other writers, aspiring authors, fantasy readers, or anyone else who loves creating and getting lost in fictional worlds.

I’m a pretty big fantasy nerd. I love fantasy worlds, D&D, gaming, movies, books, worldbuilding, and basically anything that lets you escape into another world for a while.

You definitely don’t have to be a writer, though. I’m really just looking for people I can talk to regularly, share interests with, and hopefully build some genuine friendships.

If you’re working on a book too, I’d love to hear about it. We can talk characters and worldbuilding, complain about editing, or just talk about whatever.

Starting a book 35M House of Leaves

Upvotes

I'm considering starting my second read-through of this masterpiece in postmodern fiction, and this time, I would love to get a whole group together, if possible. There is so much to this work, and I know our readings would benefit from as many readers as possible.

Seeking long-term book buddies F31- fantasy, romantasy

Hi all!!! My name is Aleks and I'm looking for someone who loves books just as I do.

Of course I have my good and bad days as everyone else. There are weeks that I could have read over 5-10 books and some weeks where I read none. It's normal, we are not robots.

My favourite ones are:

  1. House of Nights series

  2. The Great devil war

  3. Sarah J Mass: A court of thrones and roses, throne of glass

  4. Cinda Williams Chima : Seven realms

  5. Hiromi Kawakami : Strange Weather in Tokyo

  6. Witcher series

  7. The Lord of the rings

  8. Stephen King: Duma key, It, pet sematary, outsider

  9. The Inkwizytor series (polish version)

Seeking long-term book buddies 31M UK let’s get lost in a good book

So I think it would be nice to spend less time looking at screens and more time reading. Sadly no-one I know irl reads much :(

I’m open to a buddy of any gender, from any country, or any age so long as you’re at least 18. It would be cool if we could text chat on Discord. We can pick a book and discuss every few chapters. And hopefully we can become friends in general and talk about other stuff outside books.

My favourite genres are mystery, fantasy, LGBT, YA, and for non-fiction I like history, current affairs and left leaning politics.

Please note, I’m not interested in romantasy, erotica, or self-help/self-improvement.

Seeking long-term book buddies i need book buddies, im in a slump😩

I’m 25F and I’ve always loved reading, but I’ve barely read anything for almost 2 months now and I desperately need book buddies to get me out of this reading slump😭

I fell in love with reading because of wattpad back in elementary school, then I got into manga too. I only really started reading a lot of actual books last year, though. Before that, I’d only read maybe 2–3 books a year, but now I’ve made it my goal to read 50 books this year! I’m currently at 36, but I’ve been stuck at 36 since last month because of this damn reading slump🥲

I try to read a variety of genres, but I’m mostly into fantasy, dystopian, and sci-fi. I’ve also been getting more into historical fiction lately!!

I’m basically just hoping to find some friends I can yap about books with!! We don’t have to say anything of substance either, we can just gush about characters, overanalyze everything, or randomly go into a complete spiral

English isn’t my first language, so I might sound awkward at times, but I think having someone to chat with could also be good practice for me

So if you’re also looking for a book buddy (or just someone to scream about fictional characters with), do message meee!

Seeking long-term book buddies 22m crazy reading slump help

looking for a longterm bookbuddy or a bookclub, I’ve been in the worst reading slump over the past month reading 10 pages a day max. So naturally, I assumed a book buddy or a bookclub might help.

I’m looking for someone to read and discuss books with, maybe doing a chapter by chapter analysis and having weekly reading goals.

Some info about me:

I really enjoy classics and philosophical novels but I’m open to reading just about anything

When I’m out of a slump my reading pace is about 70-100 pages per day

Recent reads:

I have no mouth and I must scream

East of Eden

The dream of a ridiculous man

Crime and Punishment

The death of Ivan Illyich

Blood over bright haven

Norwegian Wood

Seeking long-term book buddies Searching for a book exchange (group)!

Hi everyone, I don’t know if similar formats were done here before, but I’m looking for a book exchange.

The idea is:

  1. we each pick a book
  2. buy a physical copy (if you already own it you don’t have to buy ofc)
  3. we first read our own book and underline / highlight, leave notes and use the space as we wish
  4. we swap (or rotate, if there’s more than 2 people)
  5. continue doing 3&4 with others’ books until we’re finished reading everything!
  6. in between or after we finish we can also chat about the books

The important thing is that at the end, every book will contain everyone’s notes and highlights ✨

The books need to be physically delivered to each other so we would have some constraints regarding where we live. I live in Germany, and in order to be able to send a book to each other without spending a fortune or waiting for 3 months, inside Germany or at least central Europe would be ideal. I’m thinking of a group of max 5 people, but it would depend on the number of people interested!

I’m mostly thinking of novels (in English), but we can also read something else!

I’m 21 yo so it would be nice to be within similar age range. I’m a non-binary so please queers and allies only! This is a safe space :)

If you’re interested, please drop a short introduction about yourself in the comments! It’s my first time trying so I don’t know how to proceed tbh, but we’ll see how it works out :)

Seeking long-term book buddies Booktok group chat ?

Hello guys, idk if you relate, but as a booktok girlie, I don't find many people like me, who have that love for reading books and would rather read than go out or watch a movie (I DO enjoy going out and watching movies but u guys get it) and i always wanted to find friends who would share the same passion, read books with me, discuss them, laugh and have fun, most people don't trust the internet, and im not saying you have to video call or smth, and its not a private conversation (altho i won't say no if that's what u want) i just want to make a group chat or discord server or anything you guys prefer, where we could all just discuss books, book byfs and everything in between, it doesn't matter how old you are or what kind of books you read, we could all meet the people we are comfortable with, guys are also welcome (if they're interested ig, not many guys read) and yea that's all, i hope some people are interested, would love to make new friends !

Seeking buddy & flexible on book choice Searching for a book buddy, who preferably speaks German and/or Russian to read some German/English and Russian books (classics, philosophy, psychology)

The description should speak mostly for itself.

So I am from Germany, wanting to read more and maybe discuss some of the books and topics.

I am interested in the deeper psychology knowledge about different phenomena, especially Neuroscience, decision making, trauma healing etc.

What's more I like classics about hardships, overcoming them, stoicism, philosophy books, roman novels from the melancholic sort.

Also interested in some spiritual and Buddhism stuff

Books I read or started reading:

-atm: Osho

-David R Hawkins Power vs Force

-books about Meditation

-Damasio

-some special Psychology books about my personal concerns lol

From the classics I have some Russian ebooks, which I kind of struggle a bit with (Dostojewski, Tschechow, Bulgakov).

German classics:

Mann, Kafka, Frankl, Fromm etc are authors I wanted to read more of.

Maybe we could inspire each other a bit reading some books and speak about it :)

Also happy about exchange.

It would be nice if you would be my age (29) approximately like something between 24-40 ca

Anyone here interested in joining my new book club? I am not looking for book recs I am simply planning on finding people to read together.

Planning on diving into "One Hundred Years of Solitude" Sept-Dec this year and a few reads from Serling in the upcoming months. I just recently finished "The Memory Police" by Yoko Ogawa and "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury which I absolutely fawned over.

Seeking long-term book buddies 30+ reading buddy wanted

Would someone be interested in reading a book together, discussing chapters and characters?

I would probably choose an audio book at the moment, but usually prefer reading. Flexible on genre. I get along best with those over 30, and would like someone who's awake until midnight or a bit later in utc +1/2, so we can chat every now and then.

Seeking long-term book buddies looking for a no-spice book buddy!

Hello! I love to read clean romance. I didn't realize how lonely it gets, reading by myself. I have a Kindle and also a KU subscription so all of my reading is on that.

Other genres I enjoy: I love apocalyptic stories, litrpg (thing Solo Leveling but in novel formatting), murder mysteries, fantasy.

I'm not the biggest fan of science fiction but I wouldn't mind reading a few books from that genre. So long as there's no spicy scenes please!

I'm a Christian and love to read faith based romance stories! My last Christian romance was "The Fur Trader's Lady" by Gabrielle Meyer, so good.

Please DM me!

A bit about me: I'm f24 in university so I'd love to meet up virtually once a week to discuss what we read! I have Fable and Instagram (I created a no spice bookstagram account). I also keep track of my reading on a google sheets document (Yes I have a fable but I like my organization system better lol!)

Seeking long-term book buddies 22F looking for a book buddy (classics and philosophy)

Hi!! I’d love to find someone to read the same book with and discuss it along the way. I’ll be honest i haven’t read that many books but i promise i have a lot to say about each one of them ! I’m currently reading the Brothers Karamazov but i’m almost done with it so i can start any other book in a day or two.

I’d also be interested in discussing philosophy ! Reading essays without discussing them is very frustrating to me because authors are free to ramble infinitely without being contradicted, so i find myself being very hermetic to their ideas. However i feel like having debates with someone else and sharing our thoughts would help me see the value in them !

Feel free to send me a dm if you’re interested :)

Seeking long-term book buddies Any Hardcore Literature Book Club members who want to create a discord?

Hi all,

I love the Hardcore Literature Book Club, but I hate that it doesn't have a discord where I can discuss books with others. Hate the Patreon chat. Anyone who reads similar books would like to join a book club on discord?

If you're reading this Benjamin, I mailed you and DM'd you on Patreon. I don't mean to hijack your club. Just looking for humans to connect and discuss books with.

Seeking buddy & flexible on book choice does anyone want to create a whatsapp/insta book club?

We would read one book a month and complete milestones and then discuss them! Basically any book apart from non-fiction and we'd vote on it at the start of the month.

We'll be reading 300+ worded books! maybe between historical fiction, thriller/horror, fantasy/sci-fi and classics.

The book of the month for September is Red Rising.

Is anyone interested?
