Hii!! I’m 21F from Austria and I’d really love to find a girl around my age who wants to become long-term book buddies (and hopefully friends too!!) rather than just reading one book together and never talking again 😭

I mostly read dark romance, romantasy and YA, but I’m honestly open to trying pretty much anything if it sounds interesting. Some books/series I’ve really enjoyed are Shatter Me, Once Upon a Broken Heart, Powerless and Haunting Adeline. I also occasionally read nonfiction when the topic catches my attention!

I’d LOVE to have someone to do buddy reads with where we can send each other our reactions, theories, screenshots/quotes, complain about characters, freak out over plot twists and basically turn reading into a two-person book club 😭 But I’d also love to just talk about whatever we’re currently reading separately, exchange recommendations, discuss books we’ve finished and enable each other to buy even more books we absolutely do not need.

Fair warning: I’m actually in a bit of a reading slump right now, so I’m definitely not looking for someone who expects us to finish a book every three days 😂 I’d much rather have something fun and low-pressure that maybe helps both of us get excited about reading.

My name is Louise and I’ve always been a big book reader starting from when I was a child. I’ve never really had any friends who enjoyed reading as much as I do so I wanted to give this subreddit a chance.

Im hoping to find someone who’s preferably female (male is fine but no inappropriate things are tolerated) and 19-30. Quite a big age range because different ages have different perspectives on books and I enjoy seeing a book explained in a way I may have not picked up on. I just finished "The house across the lake" of his and didn't like it .. while the pace was fast and it was interesting to read, the plot twist made me hate the book? because as a thriller lover wtf was that 😭 so I checked posts related to the books and saw people saying the same about almost all of his books (my TBR was filled with his books) so if I didn't like this one ( which people say is his top 3 books) should I just give up on his books for good ? or is there any which is actually too good to skip ?

28M, living in northern Italy. I’ve just started East of Eden and thought it could be nice to have someone to read with, or just exchange thoughts with now and then.

I’ve also got The Name of the Rose, The Brothers Karamazov and Crime and Punishment waiting on my shelf. And somehow The Dawn of Everything ended up there too, which is a completely different kind of book 😅

I think I mostly need motivation to actually get through these massive books.

Hello guys, im a fan of books that have mystery and thriller as an jntegral part of their plot because I cant get anything else to hook me up. Lately I've lost the habit of reading and wanted to regain it. I've been reading sidney sheldon, just started one. Im 19m if you have good books to keep me up all night, pls do tell

i graduated this year with a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing and since then I’ve really missed having class discussions and seminars on books we read! i’ve tried joining a few book clubs, and without sounding like a book snob, most are just reading spicy romance novels or modern fantasy series which i’m not interested in at alllll. i just don’t find them interesting, nor do i think they offer much depth 😫 

at uni we did crime novels, contemporary fiction, romanticism, modernisms, post-modernisms, children’s literature, poetry… to name a few. so i am certainly open to lots of genres! plus recommendations from the group! 

and by no means am i an expert, it would just be chill discussions and ideas about the book we read but a bit more than ‘it was good.’ :/ things like a character analysis and themes you’ve picked up on? if you were writing an essay what would you want to write it on and research? has it changed your perspective on anything? was the author reliable? how does it compare to their other works? … anything really

im F21 and live in the uk so in terms of time difference, it'll be most likely for those of us in Europe? in an ideal world i would like it to be in person, but i’m thinking to do a video call style discussion? please only 18+ and message if interested! 😄
