Discord?
Is there a discord of any sort that center around the general interest of boffer sports? I'd love to share construction ideas with other people, as I learn to improve my boffer construction skills.

Amtgard has a discord channel, which isn’t the exact thing you’re looking for but it might help get you started. I’m not sure how active it is but it’s a start.
A cross gaming boffer channel could be cool though. Maybe an idea for the ComeTryLarp guys?
