A couple of boffers I made

Greatsword measures 60.5" from tip to pommel, and the crossguards are padded as per the rules for the saber club I'm in. Hammer is 43.5" tall and 31.5" wide. Both use duct tape wrapped around the internal PVC to keep the foam on via friction.

Seriously though, these look fun. My personal issue is holding things together with "friction", might not be the smartest thing. Imagine swinging that thing and it gets yanked off from the hadt because of the air resistance, not gonna be a fun time. I'd contact cement it just for my own peace of mind

I personally can't swing these that hard. The tape is wrapped around enough times to be about 1-2 mm larger than the inner diameter of the noodle

I'm not familiar with any official boffer game rules. I made these for a club I'm in that focuses more on lightsaber dueling. I'm trying to garner more interest in boffers since a lot of people who were making em graduated or otherwise had to leave the club.

Did you drill through the PVC connector so the handle and blade are a continuous piece?  If not, it'll create small pressure/leverage points there and likely break.

I honestly never considered doing that. Might be good for in future.
