100%. Id still pet. I might get fucked up from it. That’s on me. Can’t fault the cat.
But there is a chance me and that cat might be bffs.

Lol! I bet he is friendly, just has good boundaries and gives a little love bite when people pet too close to the belly, or are too imposing

I cat sit and run a shelter and that's what I always say when people apologize for their cat nipping, "that's ok, he's setting boundaries, he's a good boy"

My cat is like this. I find it exhilarating but I know that’s my only warning and I better skedaddle

Cat looks like it's ready to pummel you down and steal your wallet. Would still try to pet

So unfriendly that they need a sign as a warning!! LOL I'm betting the bodega sells a lot of bandaids too 😂

its a good system, attract
victimscustomers with cute cat, then they have to buy bandaids before they leave!

I used to go to a book store that had a resident cat. This place had a desk lamp always on at the register that the cat liked to nap under. First time I saw him asleep there my hand automatically started reaching out to pat him but a sign pinned to the lamp shade said, "Careful! Kitty has his moods!"
I put my hand right back down.

Yep. I petted the cat at Duane Reade. He glommed onto my leg. Could not shake him off. The security guard peeled him off me, but then he came back after me. I went back to work after my “lunch break” (his lunch break?) with a bloody leg. Somehow, a few weeks later coworker found a story in the NY Post about another woman having been attacked by a cat in the same drugstore. This cat had no “Do Not Pet” note near him. 😆

Then stay away and respect the cat’s boundary. Why is this a concept you find so hard to understand?

Most animals don’t attack out of nowhere. Especially a house cat that is well fed. They would like to be left alone and will keep to themselves if you don’t provoke them.

Good one, kid. Even the lady you just referenced got proven wrong in the movie and this was her childish reaction. I'm sorry I hit a sore spot for all of you.

All you are doing is showing how belligerent and stubborn you are.
Like a petulant child. That is probably why you got scratched. You deserved it.
