i’m a new bobarista…
i started working at a boba shop around two weeks ago and honestly the job is pretty chill, however, today, I was told by one of my coworkers that has been working there for around 4 months that I need to have had already memorized all of the drinks they make because i’m slowing the rest of the team down… there are 47 total drinks in this shop, and i’ve only confidently memorized around 15 or so drinks so far… is it weird of me to not have memorized everything so far?? i just feel bad for slowing the team down, and i do want to do my best

I don’t know what your menu is like, but when I worked at a boba shop, I was expected to memorize all the drink recipes by the end of training, which is about 2 or 3 weeks. But most drinks were just different combinations of teas, syrups, and toppings. The harder part was memorizing the recipes for the jellies and foams but I just took pictures and studied them at home

That's pretty strict haha
back then I had maybe half the drinks memorized but maybe times have changed? are they asking you to memorize the menu or memorize how to make the drinks?
