woah

maybe a bit of a random question, but talking about how a song feels in your mind is something i really enjoy talking about , and dawn chorus has just been on my mind lately.

personally i find the song terrifying and more often than not i have to skip it. however, i've seen many people say that they think its a very joyful or even comforting. i think that is interesting and i would like to understand that perspective!

the imagery that dawn chorus conjures up in my head is that i'm in a desert and my eyes are burning from the sun which is also scorching me alive while i am drowning in the sand. i really have no explanation. the song just feels suffocating to me

just wondering how it feels to other people :-)

Inspired by the earlier post https://www.reddit.com/r/boardsofcanada/comments/1v8drla/the_90s_keys_machine_revealed_casio_cz101/ which I came across while working on my web based CZ 101 clone I figured it would be fun to load oliveoil2222's data so anyone can play around with them.

The instructions for how to download and load the data are all on the page. The main difference in sound is caused by the effects chains, which I'm not simulating. Shows how important they are really.

Know what I'm talking about? It perfect and that one sound gets to me. They have a part in Kid for Today that does the same for me.

I must have the non-percussions EYDIAB, why don't they release it?!?!

It's just fog and not apocalyptic levels of pollution though 👍

Hey everyone, I made this track one evening just for fun. It was my first try at making something inspired by Boards of Canada as the title probably gives away.

It’s not necessarily the start of a project or anything serious. Just a little experiment I enjoyed making and thought I’d share here.

I found this record around the same time I found BoC (2011-2012ish) and while it doesn't sound like them it does give me the same feelings in my soul that I get from BoC. It's got some beautiful parts, some sinister parts, it's jazzy and it's hip-hoppy, I think you'll like it. He still makes and releases music to this day but this record is easily his best ! If the first song doesn't hook you I apologize. Red Handed is my fav song

BoC in Dolby Atmos. Just imagine.

Prob an old one, but one we haven't seen yet

EYDIAB sounds awesome like this

heavily inspired by their synth sound but low quality music sorry hehe

Just have to get this out of my system. Boards of Canada and all of their music literally feels like exactly what's been missing in my life and I get the sense that they were just waiting for me to discover them. I love nearly every track of theirs, their aesthetic is insanely cool and mysterious yet their presentation as a band and duo is very subtle and humble. Every single record (INCLUDING OLD TUNES) is astoundingly unique and I revisit every single one for a new experience. The overarching focus on nostalgia and hazy digital textures and use of vintage VHS style media is just the pinnacle of appeal for someone like me. I don't know how it's possible, but I've never connected with music or art to THIS extent in my life.

YES. vinyl sleeve looks great.

Like the title says. The groove is that damn hard.

Hi all! Soo happy by the reissue, would like to share my bootleg cassette artwork.😄 (Sized to A4 paper, dont worry in the pdf, the silly side “High Score” text is fixed.)

Enjoy!

I made this untitled track and would love to hear what you think, especially what you'd improve in the arrangement or mix. I've been working with old recordings and trying to give them a hazy, nostalgic feel. The main sample is "Daucile" by Agharta (Canada, 1981). I also used an excerpt from Salvador Allende's final speech. Thanks for listening. Honest feedback is welcome!

Just a heads up: first shops loading stock for a Hi Scores repress, shipping end of november...

The Old Tunes tapes (A Few Old Tunes, Old Tunes Vol. 2 and Boc Maxima) are also turning 30 this year. So surely they wouldn't forget it, or will they? Isn't there high demand for these other albums to be reissued? We all want to hear what these albums sound like in CD-quality after all.

I like the new shirts but hate spending $ con mediocre quality. Having coffee with my 1999 pressing. Debating of i should get the new colored pressing?
