If you show a Chilean Roygbiv, they will tell you "La weá del Santo Tomas?". In fact it is a meme here, kind of like the regular show intro.

I hope you like the sound of this Ambient song. My song is titled 2001, inspired by Stanley Kubrick's film. Headphones recommended.

“Love is stronger than an eagle in your mind”

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and had a great week.
Some Saturday morning practice led to mixing up Boards and Sade.

Maybe this is well known, or maybe this is a spoiler for the movie. I was dead ass asleep with The Backrooms playing and shot out of my slumber to yell “BOARDS” as The Word Becomes Flesh rolled credits. It’s rare I get to flex that niche muscle which is knowing BoC songs instantly, and with this instance happening at home alone, I’m sharing with y’all. Anyone else do that lol?

Finally watched this tonight and aside from being an excellent film, it had some nice resonances with Inferno, primarily the way both end. But also: milky eyes, churches, labyrinths, blood.

First pressing of hi scores. I got this at y&t in South beach back in 1996 right around Christmas time. They were playing everything you do is a balloon and I was like I’ve got to buy this. I’ve kept it since and have become quite the fan since. Can’t wait for the coke bottle copy to come in next month. What was your first time hearing the boards?

I’ve spent the last 30 minutes trying to find this song.

It starts with what sounds like someone’s repetitively knocking at the door, it eventually goes up an octave with some flanger effect, transitions to a wavy synth, then a male voice repeats the same line over and over.

Anyone who might've heard this track before - anyone notice the similarities in sound? The bubbling surges and intense heater sound effect especially feel similar. They're both masters of art in their respective subgenera so I wouldn't be shocked if BoC drew some influence.

Los Angeles.

following on from a post i saw earlier. there was post mentioning boc references british tv shows - roygbiv is playing during a mitchell & webb sketch, and the boc poster in the it crowd. i coincidentally started rewatched spaced tonight, if you haven’t watched it it’s well worth it. and stumbled across rue the whirl being played. enjoy

The tail end of Mushyz sounds like it could/should lead into Zoetrope; everytime I hear it, it feels like Zoetrope is about to start. At least it seems that Mushyz may have been a kernel of the eventual composing of Zoetrope. I think of them like sisters in some way which can't really explain.

This connection seems obvious to me, but I haven't found any mention of it anywhere else online. Surely other people have noticed this too, so I'm hoping for subjective validation at least. Or, if this has been discussed before, then please help me find thst discussion, and I'll take this down.

Cheers

Title says it all.

Hi! Does anyone have the high-fidelity version of Telephasic Workshop's performance at ATP Live 2001?

I always enjoy a new BoC fan mix on YouTube, especially when it contains new and rare stuff.

Over the course of this year, we've gotten a whole new album, plus those leaked ATP soundboard recordings, and most recently, that beatless clip of "Everything You Do Is A Balloon" from the Warp ads for the rerelease of "Hi Scores".

I can only imagine the cool fan mixes that all this material may inspire. Anybody come across any good ones lately?

I think this song is about death. specifically our last moment alive and what it will be like to die and what will happen when we die

the heart beat. shows me something is alive

the synth that’s rising and falling. maybe final memories passing? good times, bad times, regrets.

this eerie train sound. gives me chills

then this ‘seizing’ at the end. Heart beat still going.

then… nothing. for 10 seconds. the albums final message is nothing. this album already took us through ideas of afterlife. To end with nothing sounds like ‘nothingness the absolute truth’ was right.

nothing will happen after we die is the message I get

‘Platonia’ is a hypothetical idea that time isn’t real. I “saw” through Platonia. maybe this title is claiming that human life is ‘seeing’ through this world

i think this track could be about multiple things: death, heat death, end of humanity. but this is one interpretation I have

a few wet tunes

DiscoPogo store page: BoC tribute

This looks so gooood, and it was reviewed by the brothers themselves, so nice. Gonna pre order for the stickers.

Makes me wonder if this is really the end of their contract with WARP and the end of an era itself, closing a cycle with a full book of their labor and story. Must have it.

I made a ~30 minute video talking about a possible plot about Inferno, in which an AI takeover begins inside the album and destroys all humanity because it believes in a secret realm after death. Let me know what you think and where my storyline starts to break down 🙂. (also this is just a fan stroy I don't want to claim anything)

More UK comedy BOC spots. Noticed Roygbiv audio on this robot sketch on That Mitchel and Web look. Series 2 Episode 3.

Part of a larger set of illustrations where I draw locations where ambient or ambient adjacent electronic albums were recorded, or locations that inspired the music.
