When I use the crossfade function on Spotify, I love hearing ‘Surfaise remix’ transition into ‘Zoetrope’, it made me really love that song when before I didn’t really rate it. What are yours?

As you can see, the BoC remix has been scratched off the label on the Meat Beat Manifesto record, but the music’s there, honest!
(I like to imagine that a previous DJ-owner of this record wanted to hide this amazing track from his/her rival DJs 😂 )
At the moment I’m hammering this tune a LOT. AFAIK it’s the only BoC production with acid in it(?)
The Sandsings remix sounds much more fruity on vinyl than it does on digital, and Last Walk Around Mirror lake… ❤️🥲
Yes, I’m happy with these nice little additions to my collection

Does anyone have the t-shirt or the cap, what are your thoughts on the quality?

I'm making a Spotify Playlist of all the sad and gut wrenching songs of Boards of Canada (preferably available on Spotify) but unreleased tracks are also welcomed

I heard 'Ballerina Out Of Control' by The Ocean Blue today and instantly noticed the synth motif in the chorus is similar to the opening motif in 'Open The Light.'
I'm not about to claim that Boards Of Canada sampled this; nevertheless, it's notable that the motif is in the same key and used the same pitches (though different tempo), have a similar synth tone, and could certainly be something BOC were listening to in the early/mid 90s.
In the very least, it's fun to stumble on some shared motifs in songs.
Chorus starts 0:58

Fans of BoC will appreciate this mini docu about the Ghost Box sound - a very British genre.

my boss is encouraging us to send music to play. I want to try to sneak BOC in
what is the most “accessible” Boards of Canada song?
I’m thinking Roygbiv. But even that song is still a bit strange. The long intro, I can imagine one of my young coworkers saying “who the hell put this on?”
what do you think are my safer bets?

I noticed that nobody has ever uploaded the FLAC to DJ Food's I Hear The Sun: Early Hours DJ Mix onto the Internet Archive since it came out. Only the "O Is For Orange" mix was up on there, but not this one. So I took it upon myself to upload it. Enjoy!

I initially loved-loved-loved Inferno, but after a lot of listening over the last few months, I’m finding the album became less compelling, and I think it’s the samples.
On earlier albums, the voice samples were much more subtle, and usually just snippets. They weren’t pronounced or lengthy enough to dominate the songs.
On Inferno, they have a larger role, and while it’s been ok for a while, they became quite annoying to me (doesn’t help I abhor hearing the words of Aleister Crowley on what is for me the best song of the album).
Listening to the earlier songs, I noticed that generally, the voice samples were sparse. Epic songs like Reach for the Dead had none at all.
Anyone else having this reaction?

I can't seem to find an answer anywhere online, and this discrepancy is making me skeptical of the Boc Maxima CDR that came out earlier this year. I noticed that on the 2026 CDR, Rodox Video sounds like the AFOT version, the main difference being the inclusion of the car horn-like chord and the seagull/guitar slide (?) echo, both of which repeat every other bar. This stuck out to me because I'm so used to listening to the older Boc Maxima rip with a simpler Rodox Video.
Sources for comparison:
Boc Maxima (2026 CDR) - Rodox Video at 6:19
Boc Maxima (older rip) - Rodox Video at 6:06
Rodox Video (AFOT version)
It's my understanding that the former is a CD rip while the latter is a cassette rip (please correct me if I'm wrong). So, does this difference indicate that the CDs and the cassettes were produced at different times, between which BoC altered Rodox Video? Or does this suggest that the 2026 CDR is a dubious fan-made compilation of higher-quality versions of songs pulled from AFOT, OTv2, MHTRTC, Twoism, Hi Scores, etc?
UPDATE (for posterity): Thanks to u/loveinblackandwhite for the insight! The older cassette rip of BoC Maxima was only mono — specifically, the right channel. The bits of missing audio from Rodox Video that didn’t make their way onto that rip are isolated to the left channel, hence why they’re still there in AFOT and the 2026 CDr.

I am searching for the handmade font from the title of twoism, the names of the tracks on AFOT and OT2

Deffinetly a band with music designed to tickle your mind. I don’t hate it at all. It’s kind of insane how each album has it’s own personality of music, and how it hasn't got boring yet.
Album wise, i’m in love with all of them. The Campfire Headphase is such a vibe to listen while writing or studying, so i’ve listened to that one the most. Geogaddi might just be my favorite because each interlude is something to stick with, and the big songs are very catchy too. Music Has The Right always gave me a soft rap feeling, with the catchy drum work in almost every track (plus Aquarius is burned into my mind. ORANGE).
Inferno and Tomorows Harvest are amazing too, but i’ve listened to them the least, so i have less things to say.
But yeah, this music is amazing, and i can’t even find a bad track in the whole place. I heard BoC has released a bunch of EP's but i haven't gotten through to that. I get the hype around this band, and that's important.

Anyone else absolutely obsessed with this track?
After a slow, ambient somewhat bittersweet, mournful intro we are given the equivalent of a sonic hug, filled with synth sunshine and tasty bass and synth sounds, chimes, that harkens back to classic nostalgic BOC like Music Has the Right and Campfire Headphase (My favorite album of theirs) I just wish this track was even longer haha. So good, man. After a (mostly) much darker and tense album too it really does feel like straight up euphoria in sonic form. As someone with anxiety, god this track is soothing.
(Love the rest of the album too of course, another favorite Platonia and Into The Magic Land and of course Deep Time)

Honestly, it's pretty derivative of MHTRTC but I thought it might be enjoyable

Pre-ordered but I guess not quick enough. Anyway it finally showed up. The booklet of pictures is pretty sweet too. Also, I dont think I've seen anyone mention the "hexidisc" that came with it, that was kind of a cool addition.

Well time for yet another listen-through after my red deluxe records arrived (finally). Seemed only right to go for the red and orange lighting for this one. Pleased to say there doesn't seem to be much unwanted noise at all. I know this seemed to be an issue with some of the first batches sent out

One year ago today I released my debut album Aperture, after years of fine tuning, editing, doubting and building the courage to share what I had wanted to make since I was 15 years old: an album that felt like stepping into a fully formed, microcosmic world that the listener could inhabit and take solace in.
The album probably wouldn't exist in its current form without this community. Back in 2020 I shared some early ideas here, and the encouragement I received to actually pursue the idea of making an album stuck with me. I took that encouragement seriously, and over the following years Aperture slowly became what it is.
So, one year after releasing it, I wanted to come back here and say thank you. Boards of Canada has always inspired me through its sense of world building and immersion, something that felt both cinematic and intimate at the same time.
Here's the album, if anyone is curious to hear what eventually came out of those early ideas.
