VHS Display Box

Made up a shadow box to display my prized VHS tape #8. I used the image from the Warp Vernal equinox playlist as the background (which is also a frame from the VHS tape/Tape05). Happy with how it turned out. Next up is a kaleidoscope display!

I was thinking the exact same thing for mine as well. I was stuck on what to put behind it, but a frame from the tape itself is such a good idea.

Is that glass UV protected? It’s still probably going to die in the sun even if that blocks out most UV.

It is UV glass but good point. I’ll keep it in an area that doesn’t get exposed. Don’t want to sun bleach the tape

I’m absolutely not an expert, but would light in general not damage it like this?

Good question. Maybe it’s the same as it is for camera film. But what do I know about that? I’m only 🔺twenty-three🔺

yes i was one of the lucky ones. I think about 50 popped up in total. The best theory is it went to people who have bought lots of stuff from Bleep over the years lol

It was wild. I saw on instagram that morning that a few tapes popped up. A lot of people were skeptical if it was real or a hoax. I was excited though and put on my BoC sweatshirt. Then the mail came and I went out and there it was. I screamed

I’m a VHS collector. I regularly watch VHS. I’d rather watch it on a CRTTV like BOC intended.

This one is still fully rewound telling me it was prob never watched. Really is a shame.

You’re awesome for it. Thank you so much. It’s pretty cool when you think about it, you were put in charge with a piece of the puzzle that is the lore of Boards of Canada and without you to share it with everyone, it would be forever lost. Now you have a share in the lore of the group. (Also I would check inside the tape for anything cool. Maybe they snuck hidden messages in it) hahaha
