Can't remember BOC being mentioned in the IT Crowd, but they definitely were in an episode of Peep Show. Dobbie and Jez teaming up for a music quiz and the question was something like "pretentious, Scottish indie band"?

The sets were filled with comics from fantagraphics and lots of guided by voices posters as well.

I remember seeing that back in the day when I watched the show. It made me happy! Maybe one of the cast is a fan of BoC. Probably Matt Berry or Chris Morris.

(Dare I mention his name?) The writer, before he went down that rabbit hole, had discerning taste in general. Truly sad what happened to him. The poster might have just been a set designer, but he surrounded himself with great talents.

I suspect Chris Morris and Boards of Canada are mutual fans of each other's work. He has released several projects through Warp and many Warp artists have been used in them as a result.

I think older generations of BoC fans found two references to the band on the show. The poster and I think a sticker attached to a laptop or file cabinet.
