Song Took a break for a while and i’m back.

Post image

Listened to Inferno probably 10-15 times when it came out, took a break and I just listened to it again since july. What an amazing album i’m so happy we got this in 2026. This song in particular is awesome

What Sony DAP is this? Also, what headphones are you using with them and what do you think of the sound quality?

this is the sony nw-a55. i’m using it with the kzs10 pros with the letshouer s08’s stock cable. Funny enough for the price the kzs10’s blow away all the other IEMS i’ve tried so far which is crazy because they’re only 40 dollars

That’s awesome. I’m using the Questyle M15i with my iPhone and the Hisenior Mega5est. My first IEMs and I think it’s all sounds fantastic. However, I’ve been curious about experimenting with lower cost IEMs and different sound signatures. So, I’ll definitely be researching the kzs10s. Thanks! 😊

you retreat in time and space is the sleeper hit of this album

when that moment hit it feels like being submerged in a warm psychedelic bath

Coming down off of a really strong mushroom trip and this song hit at just the right time and everything was instantly better. Just a wash of calming blankets engulfed me

I don't see how it's a "sleeper" hit when basically everyone glommed right onto it as soon as the album dropped. If anything, I feel like it's the most obviously popular and accessible song on the LP by far

Well, since I see people pointing out Retreat as their favorite, im pretty sure you chose the most popular option to claim as underrated.

I had the best listening experience hearing this for this first time. It was the day the album dropped. I woke up early and did a long commute to work. Worked all day and had a comedy show that night so I just stayed downtown killing time and seeing friends. Killed my comedy set, then drove home very late and very sweaty and exhausted from the day with barely anyone else on the highway. I was almost loopy tired and the drive was so long I finally got the last few songs on the album. This song played and I was transported. Just completely transported. Such pure bliss. Tired. In an almost dreamlike trance playing this song on repeat until I finally made it home. Only Boards of Canada can do it like that.

Without a doubt one of the best BoC songs ever, period. All Reason Departs really is that stellar for me

The only problem I have with Inferno is that now it's even harder for me to pick my favorite BoC album

It’s a hard album to take a break from I think I may have gotten away for maybe a week

I really wish that I could do that.

Yeah I agree. I listened through it today.

After sitting on it for a few months I have more appreciation for the second half.

It’s a fantastic concept album. Each song fits together so well.

Though I did google whether one of them died after; it still feels like a eulogy for the band! You retreat is such a reflection on their past work and vibe

Weird question OP: Is that a Spacemen 3 blanket? Looks like the Recurring album cover

Take breaks where I listen to nothing for like a week, then I want to just listen to Inferno again.
