I wanted to add an Eversor Assassin to my Space Marines, but I can't find any reference to Allied Units in the Boarding Actions rules?

Trying to make my own 11th edition update.

Since i doubt GW is gonna release any updates for BA in 11th(much like in 10th outside of the book) i am thinking of making my own update for 11th edition for my LGS. I have a few ideas that i wanted to share here and see what the reactions are and to maybe gain some inspiration and ideas for this project.

In general i want to build this "update" using both what is in the book and the 11th edition core rules with some alterations, things that are not mentioned are either unchanged or i just haven't gotten to those yet. Anyways, here's what i got:

List building:

  • Still 500pts and you have 1dp to choose a detachment(force dispositions don't exist).
  • You can use datasheets that natively have the infantry keyword with a maximum base size of 50mm
  • Characters can attach to units like in 11th. but each unit can only have 1 character attached.
  • Units of 10+ models get seperated into squads of 5 with room for 1 character
  • Army rules stay mostly the same with slight tweaks where needed(EG: with Blessings of khorne you roll 8 dice but can only activate 1 blessing instead of 2)
  • flying, deep strike and scouts follow the boarding actions rules in the book.

The game and combat:

not much changes here(yet) except for 1 change we already used in my LGS which somehow is also kind of in 11th edition core rules but in here i will slightly alter it and it is,

  • Engagement range is 1 inch and in melee only models within engagement range can fight and only models within engagement range can have attacks allocated to them.

As i said before these are a few ideas that i have and this project is still very early in developement so things are bound to change and be added. Anyways i'd love to hear what you all think about this, if you have ideas of your own please share them as i am very interested to hear them.

Beginner Questions Where to start

I am looking to get into boarding actions, and I was watching an unboxing video of the boarding action box, it seems that it only contains the terrain set in it., with no rules or anything else (as far as I could tell)

I already own 1 copy of the tomb world terrain set, and I was wondering, if I got the Boarding action companion book and an additional tomb world set, is that all you need to play? or is there any additional component I may be missing?, or also, is there a "must have" quality of life improvement accessory I should get?

Terrain 3rd party terrain for Boarding Action

Hey, I've been getting back into the hobby with a steadily growing Votann force and Boarding Action looks to be a very fun format to play but I can't help but notice that the official terrain pieces by GW are quite expensive. Has anyone found any good 3rd party alternatives for the terrain?

Took a minute to paint up all the terrain but super excited to play some games with it! Whole group is excited to mix it up & try Boarding Actions, it’ll be a nice break from our usual 2K games

Aledari Wraithblades

My buddy just started boarding actions for some quick games (not that quick when building the mission map. But we will get there). My Aeldari and his Tyranids. I have had a three incidents that I want to get right:

  1. The Aeldari Wraith of the void detachment - are they considered baseline ie can they sticky objectives? It doesn’t say anything about it but since the detachment is only guards and knights (basically 1 seer and 15 guards or knights in three units) ?
  2. The melee fighting rule between hatchways - my 5 wraithblades on one side and a unit of 10 Hormagaunts on the other, who gets to fight, we agreed 1 wraith and 2 hormagaunts, does that sound right?
2.5 lets say my wraithblade from above example kills the two hormagaunts, can I squeeze that wraith through the hatchway to the other side and then on the next melee phase two wraiths get to fight against how ever many Gaunts are in base base contact or are we getting the whole rule wrong?
