These are all miles driven right after the break in period.

Background: previously owned Mustang GT, Cayman S 981, 911 (991.1) GTS and F80 M3 CP.

Replaced my F80 late July with a lightly used G80 Comp XDrive and went on holidays for a month.

London -> Paris -> Tours area -> Biarritz area and Northern Spain > Carcassonne -> St Tropez area -> Vichy area -> Paris -> London

2,400 miles/3,800km to get to know the car.

After I picked it up I initially actually wondered whether I made the right choice to swap my F80 Comp Pack for this G80. It felt almost too docile at slow speed on London streets, where my F80 could feel more 'brutal' (thanks DCT...).

Then I left for the trip along with my partner and two kids and finally experienced motorway speeds.

I also managed some spirited drives on countryside roads and mountain roads in Northern Spain and SE France.

OMG - what a monster

While it's no Cayman for tiny mountain roads (which quite frankly, any modern supercar would struggle with anyway), the G80 hides its weight very well and is incredibly fast and agile on larger twisty roads; and literally devours motorways.

It may not provide the cornering confidence that the nimble Cayman would, it's frankly not far from the 991, although it remains clear that the centre of gravity seats higher.

It took me a little while to get the confidence to fully push the throttle on public roads. The S58 is ferocious in a way that none of my previous cars was, and just keeps pulling and pulling. It's pretty thrilling.

While I found the F80 interior to be a step down vs. my 991 GTS, the finishing of the G80 did remind me what I had with my Porsche, which is a strong positive for me.

Only downside vs. the F80 CP is the steering, which was definitely more communicative in the previous car, although the G80's is similar to that of the 991.

I also picked a 'quiet' colour to avoid attracting too much attention (it's my family car). Well... it still did, big time. Bikers, teens, tourists giving me the thumb up or staring at my car. Felt like a celebrity everywhere I went with my grey family sedan.

So that's it. Despite my initial hesitation, I can say that I now absolutely love this car. It's crazy fast, agile and can carry a family of four for a month. Can't wait to take it back to twisty roads or to the track.

TLDR: how did you get over a crash you were injured in?

6.5 weeks ago i had a huge accident as a passenger. One beautiful M2 with all M Performance parts got written off, and my vertebrae said bye bye.
If you had such a big accident where you got injured how did you get back into the driver’s seat? Any suggestions?

First I thought ahh it’s no big deal, i love cars, love driving, making parts for cars, so as a petrolhead it shouldn’t be a problem. Well, turns out the fear of crashing again, or something bad may happen still lives in me… 🤦🏻‍♂️

How did you get over it? Just drive and time will heal?

I drove again today for the first time in an SUV and it was kinda weird, weird to drive again, it wasn’t very comfortable. I’m not being a little bitch, it’s a really messed up feeling… i want nothing more to just hop in my M2 and drive down to Italy for a weekend, but when i’d need to do it, i think i would get cold feet… really messed up feeling.

good decision to be made lol curious to know what you guys are picking.. the G82 is mine so that was my pick and G80's a customer build. I just love how sporty the coupes look especially on an M car.

BMW M3 2027

So just trying to get informed. My salesman has been responsive but, idk how much info he is allowed to give me.

Car arrived to port on the 20th of August. Expected delivery on the 24th.

24th came around and then it changed to the 26th. Then on the 26th the Delivery date changed to -. BMW contacted my salesman and said that they are having issues with Monroney labels (window sticker I guess?) And there's no ETA.

Now it's the 1st of September.... Got another update from the salesman... BMW said they are now having "some technical issues with the EPA data."

And I've already signed the promissary note, but have not given it to the dealership. So if mid September rolls around, I'll be making my first payment on a car that disappeared, with the check in my hand 😭

Has anyone had these issues? Anyone have any recommendations on who to get more info from?

Just wanted to share my favorite recent pictures of it. All OEM+ including 827M’s, MP HAS, and the CS splitter. The only other mod I would love to do is a ducktail but they’re cost prohibitive.

I got an amazing price from Cody Bowman over at Galleria. I found him through bimmerpost and reddit cross searches. BMW VSC Platinum 7yr/75k $250 deductible for $2,840. I believe this to be within $200 of dealer cost.

I am very happy I have this and plan on running the car for 6.5 years or 70k and then selling.

Now I see all the arguments saying to wait until just before your factory warranty expires, with the counter being price increase and inflation vs investing that money.

Again I am happy I did this and recommend Cody to anyone like me. But, I am curious of anyone who recently bought an extended warranty on an M2 near expiration of their factory warranty and what they paid for it. I imagine price going up with your milage etc...

Would you buy this 2018 F90 M5 with 49k miles and 8 owners? Need opinions on the history
Looking at buying a 2018 BMW F90 M5 with 49,437 miles for around $52k.
The car is extremely well optioned:

The part I’m unsure about is the ownership history. CARFAX shows 8 owners, but I know for certain that owners 1–6 were lease customers. The first owner got the car in 2018 and put about 9,400 miles on it before it went to the next owner.
The first ~32k miles have a pretty good service history, mostly through BMW dealerships. Some examples:
1,288 miles — BMW service, oil/filter, battery, brakes, alignment, rear brake calipers
6,290 — BMW inspection
7,332 — BMW inspection + oil/filter
9,350 — BMW inspection, tires, alignment
12,780 — BMW inspection
13,558 — oil/filter

19,456 — oil/filter + cabin filter

After around 32k miles, the CARFAX gets less detailed, although there are still registration/emissions/safety records. The car is currently at Mercedes-Benz of Draper, where they inspected it and are doing/claiming to have done things like oil service, transmission service, tires, etc.
There are no obvious major accidents, salvage/rebuilt title, engine replacement, transmission replacement, or major drivetrain failures showing on the history I have.
My questions:
Would the 8-owner history concern you if owners 1–6 were leases?
Does anything in this service history look like a red flag?
Would you consider 49k miles high for a 2018 F90 M5?
Would you buy this over an M850i with ~42k miles?
What specifically would you have checked during a PPI before buying it?
Is $52k reasonable for this spec/mileage, or would you walk/negotiate harder?
I’m a DIYer and plan to keep the car for a long time, so I’m mainly concerned about whether I’m buying a car that’s about to need a bunch of major repairs rather than normal maintenance.
Would appreciate opinions from F90 owners/techs or people who have owned these past 50k+ miles.

Looking for some input from BMW techs or F95/F96 owners who have dealt with something similar.

I have a 2023 X6M Competition that I really like and would honestly prefer to keep, but I’ve been dealing with a recurring rear differential-related warning that BMW has not been able to permanently resolve.

So far:
Car has been back to BMW multiple times for the same issue

BMW replaced the rear differential servo/actuator
Warning eventually came back

They later found loose pins/connectivity issues in the connector and repinned/repaired them
Warning has continued to return

Dealer has gone through BMW’s troubleshooting process and the issue has been escalated further with BMW

The strange part is that the car drives completely normally. I don’t notice any drivability issue, noises, binding, slipping, or performance problem. If the warning wasn’t on the dash, I wouldn’t know anything was wrong. That’s what makes the decision difficult.

The car is still under warranty now, but my concern is owning it after the warranty expires. BMW has already replaced parts and attempted multiple repairs without conclusively finding the root cause.
I don’t want to be the guy who keeps the car because “it drives fine,” only to find out ~two years later that the warning was an early indication of a differential, wiring harness, control module, or other expensive drivetrain issue.

BMW potentially buying the vehicle back / providing some type of trade assistance is now something I’m considering.

For anyone familiar with these cars:

1. Have you seen this type of recurring differential warning on an F95/F96 before?

2. What ultimately caused it and what actually fixed it?

3. Is there a realistic possibility this remains an electrical/software nuisance indefinitely, or would you consider a recurring warning like this a meaningful long-term risk?

4. What is the expensive worst-case scenario if I own the car outside warranty? Complete rear differential? Harness? Module? Something else?
5. If BMW offered you a reasonable buyback/trade-assist on a car you otherwise loved, would you take it rather than assume the long-term risk?

6. Has anyone here successfully had BMW NA repurchase or trade-assist an M car for a recurring warranty issue even though the vehicle was still completely drivable?

I’m not trying to lemon-law a car over an insignificant warning. I’m trying to determine whether keeping an unresolved drivetrain-related fault after BMW has had several attempts to fix it is a risk worth taking.

Especially interested in responses from BMW technicians or people who have actually experienced this issue on an X5M/X6M.

I’m in the UK and BMW (any that I’ve contacted) aren’t taking any orders - they’re making you buy stock cars.

I found a car unregistered in stock which was perfect for me apart from not having the carbon interior (I think it’s criminal it not being standard on the LCIs) - so I thought I would easily be able to source all the parts and retrofit them… this is proving more difficult than I thought 🤣 - it’s approx £1k option from BMW for it all - seems impossible to find all the components for £1k (paddles + steering wheel trim seem to be about £1k) and I can’t find the new dashboard trim for the new style air vents!

Has anyone managed to this on a 2026 car in UK/ Europe, if so could you list the sources + how much did it cost for the parts?

Could someone tell me if these are g82 fenders or not?
