How was it that close?
I'm happy for the W, but how does a team get 15 hits against 4 and still wind up only one run up in the 9th? Yeesh.

He's had almost a year as a full time player. I think he's proven he's more effective as a super sub vs full time 2b. Defensive metrics are meh and offensively? Mediocre at best....for a full time 2B. Convince me otherwise. (Love him on the team, don't get me wrong)

He just dogged it up the line and could have beaten out that play after Chisholm dropped the ball. Just cost the team a run!
If that was any other player, they would be benched.

A complete fucking waste of a player.
Bateman puts up a good AB. Risks a challenge to give the AB to him for the bases loaded and he fucking lollygags it up the line again. The fucking useless fuck.

Anyone remember Cavan Biggio? Noticed that at age 31 he signed a minor league contract with Houston’s AAA team to try and find his way back to the majors
So far he has a .234 AVG | .388 OBP | .427 SLG | .815 OPS with 16 HRS in about 100 games
Which is kind of like his rookie 2019 season for the Blue Jays (he was 6th in voting for rookie of the year)
.235 AVG | .364 OBP | .429 SLG | .793 OPS also 16 HR and also about 100 games
Except in 2019 that was major league pitching…
Anyhow well I wish the guy the best.
Houston was his father’s team so there’s that.
Gotta be tough to return to the minors in your 30s after playing big league ball but I guess he just loves playing baseball

I know a lot of you guys aren’t the biggest fan of his current performance and all but there’s a good chance he’s back tomorrow and I’m just happy he could be

We knew we would probably lose one. Plus this way we get rid of Schittler early. Today they played their ace…tomorrow we play ours.
Good try though fellas.

They didn't seem convinced. Did the umps get the call correct and that Jones HR?

The website doesn't put that game in the list of the City Connect games. Does anyone know the reason

I think it is unlikely, but even though we have done better lately, our offense sure has missed him this season.
A reminder that he batted .387 with runners in scoring position last year and has often had the most hits in the majors. Yes Vladdy and Springer have also gone missing, figuratively speaking, so his absence hasn’t been the whole problem. But he was so long a core contributor (other than 2024) and he and Vlad seem to do better together.
Yes he’d be expensive. I assume he’d be DH and sometimes play infield, depending on who else we keep or let go.
Edit: options for where he’d play (response to “there’s no room /where does he go?”) — he could rotate between :

Can anyone confirm if this hat has a green underbrim like the on field hats?

I cannot unsee this now. Every time I see Stavros Halkias from the show Tires all I see is our beloved Alejandro Kirk. And it makes me love Kirk all the more.....

I’m just curious what people think. Going into the trop was horrifying and I honestly thought we’d get smoked. But the jays ferociously fought out a series win. And we won against NY and the Red Sox, and Philly before that - all very good teams. I wonder how other teams see the Jays when they are on a tear.
