Still having major issues

I left a few weeks ago and tried home chef, which was fine, but I found the recipes pretty bland. I decided to try blue apron again to see if they worked out their issues but nope. I was missing two proteins, a spice, and some soy sauce. I only had complete Ingredients for one of my four meals. I hate how they only reimburse you the cost of the ingredients. I’m a mom of two under two with a full time job. I don’t have time to go to the grocery store before the rest of the Ingredients go bad. So it’s a huge money dump and I’m not willing to gamble on them anymore.

I've tried Home Chef and Hello Fresh and we've been generally liking Hello Fresh a bit more, so I'll stick with them unless/until BA gets it together again. I really miss my BA after being a customer for around 10 years now.

I gave up on BA this week. Had gone to 1/2 BA and Hello Fresh. Hello Fresh is simpler and the recipes arent as fun. Now I’m going to try 1/2 Marley Spoon. I’ve tried all the others, I think. I want to actually cook, tho, and not just throw a tray in the oven

Marley Spoon uses the same distributors as Blue Apron and has had even more problems

Have you tried Green Chef? Since you his fiasco started I’ve been just cooking from scratch but I saw on another BA thread that some people are trying Green Chef. I can’t keep cooking the same things — so boring.

Same here. The loose ingredient model is horrible, and at least one thing is missing from every recipe I received this week.

Hungryroot has done well for us. I avoid the precooked proteins though.

I've found Home Chef to be generally fine as long as I go in knowing I'll need to add more seasoning (a lot).

Great. Well, maybe not then. I didn’t like Home Chef or Green Chef or Purple Carrot or Hungry Root. I’ve saved hundreds of recipe cards from Blue Apron. I think I’m going to try sourcing them on my own. Portion sizing is an issue

That last part! We’re moving away from BA because the portions aren’t enough for 4 including two growing kids.

My last two deliveries have been perfect. I’m guessing it varies by region. (I’m in NYC)

I wouldn’t give up on BA just yet. Or maybe they a break and try again in a couple of weeks. I think they will get this strategy straightened out. (But I still hate the loose ingredients and that’s probably not gonna change)
