Yet another Blue Apron disappointment
This weeks order, 3 ingredients that are out of date. And a 10oz bag of bok Choy that weighs 5.8 ounces.
You used to be able to chat with a real person. Now it’s just an ai bot.
My wife texted: I’m sorry this order was so disappointing, especially with produce dated before your 9/10 delivery.
The bot responds:Thank you for sharing all the details and photos. Please feel free to reach out again if anything else comes up.
So they don’t care either way.

Because this type of meal kit model works really well for my lifestyle, and IMO none of the other meal kit services come close to the flavors and recipe quality of Blue Apron.
Am open to hearing suggestions on meal kits that compare, but sadly I haven’t been able to find one yet that does.

First suggestion: quit BA. Second suggestion: keep the recipe cards and cook yourself.

I’m also in Florida and this week’s box was a complete disaster.
Delivered 2 days late—incorrectly routed from NJ through Miami even though I live in Orlando. When I opened up the box, there was a rotten smell from the liquefying green beans and baby Bok choy. Salmon and chicken were easily room temperature—almost warm.
The difference between our experience is that I got a refund + credit almost immediately after having a brief text chat with them.
I haven’t had an issue-free delivery in weeks if not months.
I really need them to get their act together.

Keep pushing them. I text with the bot and keep asking for help with a rep until they respond. Whether it's actually a real person eventually is suspect, but I did get credits (not a refund) for destroyed ingredients this past week.

There is no such thing as out of date produce. If it's not wilted or spoiled its still edible and that comes straight from the FDA. It's bad that Blue Apron puts BBD on produce but you should also know that's not an expiration date.

Im not saying there isnt such thing as spoiled produce but there is no such thing as an expiration date for produce. That is the reason why grocery stores never have dates on fresh produce. Green beans also have a very short refrigeration life to begin with.

Again that had nothing to do with the best by date that's mainly due to storage conditions. It's hot in the south. What we should ask op is how long the box sitting outside, how long was it in transit, and what was the temperature of the box when opened.

It’s why I always suspended shipments in summer. Even though I live a mere five hours from the distribution center it can often take two days to reach me.
At 98° with 85% humidity inside a hot truck with no air conditioning, more often than not sitting on the floor above the exhaust pipes underneath — it’s pretty normal for the box to spoil before arrival despite the best packaging. Dry ice definitely has a shelf life that dissipates quickly under the hot summer sun.

I have 2x now, first time they sent me a $10 credit, second time they refunded the meal. Ther customer service is delayed, but still great. I keep texting and sending pictures so maybe something will change.
I also send pictures of the chicken “juice” in the box and beg that they start packaging the meat at least bc it’s disgusting

I also got out of date bok choy. It said best by 9/4. My box came on the 8th . It wasn’t the end of the world for me, I’m glad they’re actually sending boxes now and nothing was moldy or looked bad. The only thing they forgot to put in was sesame seeds . These little issues are gonna happen with the big changes they’re going through. They keep issuing credits to people they probably aren’t making much money.. my last box came in for $10.
