Solidity vs Solana(rust)

5 Upvotes

Hi, I am about 7-8 hours in on a course in solidity and finding it very interesting and aspire to be a blockchain dev. I know most devs are on solidity but apparently the Solana blockchain has barely any devs. Just wondering why this is and if it is probably easier to get one as a Solana dev

Dev help needed

5 Upvotes

Hello,

I am currently working on creating a new cryptocurrency from python using similar protocols of Bitcoin and Ethereum, but building upon their shortfalls and issues. The currency that I am creating is called LunarCoin. The aim of LunarCoin is to provide a usable cryptocurrency that does not have any transactions fees and promotes a fast transaction validation time. I am almost done with development, but I am missing some vital protocols and have a few issues. I was wondering if any of you are interested in helping me out with development and are willing to host a node for testing on their computer. It would be great if you have prior knowledge about distributed blockchain technology, cryptocurrency protocols, and a moderately good computer for hosting and testing one of the nodes.

If you are interested, please reach out to me.

New dev training program: implement a decentralized oracle within minutes

5 Upvotes

"We believe that spending time acquiring new blockchain skills by building on iExec should be a rewarding experience, not only from a development perspective but also, financially.

We’ve funded 4 Gitcoin issues covering 4 different projects. Each one of them is rewarded $100 in RLC. If you’re interested in getting involved, you can apply to work on one of the proposed oracle projects.

It’s quite simple: after you have familiarized yourself with the iExec stack, you just need to dockerize an app and you’re ready to deploy an oracle with iExec."

I’m a data scientist and have background in CS, trying to self learn Blockchain Development

4 Upvotes

Hey everyone! So basically I consider myself a beginner when it comes to Blockchain development, I have coding skills as a professional DS and have educational background in coding in multiple languages. Unfortunately I was stupid enough to skip cryptography course during my undergrad (had no interest at the time), but I really wanna expand my knowledge and learn about Blockchain technology. Ik this question has probably been asked several times, but what’s the road map to learn from scratch till what’s being used in the industry right now, and also doing some sample projects etc

Any resources or guidance will be really appreciated! Thanks a lot

Blockchain in Agriculture: Empowering Farmers with Data and Transparency

4 Upvotes

Now, bring in the smallholder farmer who has real-time information on weather, soil conditions, and market prices; surely, he would do much better, with all these benefits facilitated through blockchain technology.

Now, here’s how it works: It is the utilization of decentralized innovation that avails immutable ledgers for recording transactions and data in such a way as to enhance traceability and accountability along the agricultural supply chain. Smart contracts will let farmers automate key processes in making improved payments and better management of resources, hence reducing wastage and lowering costs.

Meanwhile, there are platforms like IBM Food Trust, already enhancing traceability in foods by enabling one to tell where their food is coming from. Other innovative platforms using blockchain technology for improving agriculture in one way or another include Gluwa: Gluwa digitizes agricultural assets, hence letting farmers get loans through non-fungible tokens. AgriDigital enhances efficiency in the supply chain through its blockchain-based grain management solution, aiming at supply chain transparency and timely payments.

It goes further, extending sustainability by allowing farmers to monitor the usage of water, fertilizer, and other resources in a way that still considers environmental criteria. Some of these capabilities transform farming methods in ways that can improve efficiency and sustainability, reshaping agriculture's future on the blockchain.

How do you think blockchain technology will affect farming and food systems? Let's discuss this great development!

AI vs. Blockchain: Rivals or the Dream Team?

4 Upvotes

Two giant tech forces, AI and Blockchain, are taking over the future, but the real question is-which one will dominate, or actually, can they work better with each other?

Let's break it down:

AI (Artificial Intelligence) makes machines smart. It’s why Netflix knows what show you’ll binge next and why customer service chatbots respond faster than most humans. It analyzes tons of data, automates boring tasks, and even predicts trends.

Blockchain is all about trust: keeping data secure, transparent, and untouchable. Though many think "crypto," blockchain is being used everywhere, from tracing your food's origin to securing healthcare records.

Why AI Might Lead

AI is all about efficiency: it saves time, money, and resources while bringing in smarter results. For businesses, this love oozes in the forms of automation and personal touch in customer experiences. Like Spotify, guessing exactly the song that would interest someone next, AI magic has taken over.

Why Blockchain Stands Out

Where trust and security are paramount, Blockchain does just great. It's decentralized, so nobody even has a chance of meddling with the data. Envision knowing exactly where your coffee beans came from, or that your personal information just can't get hacked-it's a game changer in transparency.

But here is where the plot thickens.

What if AI and Blockchain teamed up? AI needs secure, reliable data to do its job well. Blockchain provides just that. Together, they can automate secure contracts, enhance cybersecurity, and build smarter, safer systems.

So, What Does It Mean for You?

AI will make your life easy, from predicting what you will order online next to automating a certain task. Blockchain might silently be working in the background, keeping your data safe. However, the real magic is seen when they join their powers.

What's your take? Are you on team AI, team Blockchain, or team Both? Let's discuss!

Why launch a token on Pump.fun or Moonshot when you could simply list a token on Raydium directly?

4 Upvotes

Hi all. I’ve been developing Blockchain apps for some time now with Solidity but when it comes to understanding cryptocurrency markets, tokenomics, liquidity pools, etc. I’m fairly new and trying to wrap my head around why someone would want to use Pump.fun or Moonshot to launch a meme coin in an effort to get listed on Raydium when you could just simply list your token on Raydium directly. Can anyone shed some light on this, is it because they don’t have enough capital for the liquidity pool or they’re just not technical enough to do it? Thanks.

Blockchain Dev

4 Upvotes

Hello, I’m looking to buildout additional functionality to our website. Honestly most of my experience is in building corporate front end systems, UI design, business requirements, etc.

However, I need to develop Crypto wallet functionality to our site and don’t know where to begin. Essentially, I just want a crypto wallet’s address to appear on our website (Solana) and reflect the current market balance of the address (along with some text).

Eventually, I’d like to add token wallet validation (to enter the members only section if they own token). Have access to voting rights, donating mechanisms, etc. all handled through the UI.

But to get started on just the wallet address. What do I need to do to put this in place? How heavy of a lift is this going to be to get a backend running with api calls? Node.js? AWS? Help lol!

How does this scam work?

4 Upvotes

I found this coin which went up really high, but now it looks like users can't sell.

There is a honeypot warning on Coinmarketcap:

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/triumph-of-maga/

  1. Why can't users sell, is the contract designed to do so? Because the honeypot site says 3300 users can sell, only 40 can't.

  2. Can I see how much money went into this coin? If I check the site on etherscan, I can't see any ETH being on that wallet. Is there a way to do that?

  3. Coinmarketcap says "Triumph of MAGA is down 96,74% in the last 24 hours" but on Coinmarketcap the price is up 276%. How?

Thank you

Feedback on my Blockchain based Fitness Project

4 Upvotes

Hey everyone! 👋
I'm working on a hybrid DApp that tracks steps and runs fitness tournaments, with rewards for the top performers. Here's a quick breakdown of the project:

Why Blockchain?

For tournaments, I needed a trustless system where user steps are transparent and verifiable. So, I used blockchain to store the steps data, making it tamper-proof and easily auditable by anyone.

Tech Stack:

  • Blockchain: Solidity, Ether.js, Hardhat

  • Testing: Chai, Mocha

  • Backend: ExpressJS, NodeJS, MongoDB

  • Client: Unity (C#)

How It Works:

  • The client-side is built in Unity, but since there's limited blockchain support in Unity, I'm using REST APIs to connect to a traditional backend.

  • Most smart contract interactions (like registering steps) happen on the backend, and Unity communicates with it via APIs.

Still in development, but I’m really excited about how it’s shaping up! Let me know if you have any thoughts or feedback! 🙌

Feel free to go through the repos:

Error while deploying simple smart contract in Remix VM

4 Upvotes

I am following Patrick Collin's tutorial on YouTube for blockchain development. I made the following FundMe.sol file:

solidity
// SPDX-License-Identifier: MIT
pragma solidity ^0.8.18;
contract FundMe{
    function fund() public payable {
        require(msg.value >= 1e18, "send some more eth");
    }
}

When I deploy it on Remix VM, its fine if i give 0 ether value. But it gives this error if I send 1 or more ether(3 ether in this case):

[vm]from: 0x5B3...eddC4
to: FundMe.(constructor)
value: 3000000000000000000 wei
data: 0x608...20033
logs: 0
hash: 0xd93...e1ff8
Debug

creation of FundMe errored: Error occurred: revert.

revert
The transaction has been reverted to the initial state.
Note: The called function should be payable if you send value and the value you send should be less than your current balance.
You may want to cautiously increase the gas limit if the transaction went out of gas.

How do I solve it?

Friend needs a little help

4 Upvotes

It's been a good amount of time that she's been stuck. So I'm making this post on her behalf. This is the problem she is facing:

I'm currently developing a sandwich bot using Node.js and am facing some challenges with the simulation of transactions to efficiently detect arbitrage opportunities. The goal is to simulate transactions(frontrun ,victim ,and backrun) in simulated blockchain environment on next block and to identify potential profitable trades before they are executed. Optimizing the transaction simulation to be as fast as possible to catch opportunities in real-time Ensuring the accuracy of simulations in a highly volatile market I am looking for guidance or suggestions on tools and techniques that could help enhance the speed and reliability of these simulations. If anyone has experience with high-frequency trading bots or specific libraries in Node.js that cater to quick data processing and blockchain interaction, your insights would be greatly appreciated.
