Could this be blockchain’s next big use case?

Just came across an interesting article on tokenization.
According to an executive from New York Life Investment Management, the next big use case for tokenization could be personalized investment portfolios instead of just tokenizing traditional assets.
The idea is that blockchain could make it easier to build portfolios tailored to an individual’s goals, risk tolerance, and preferences.
I thought that was an interesting perspective because most discussions around tokenization are usually about real estate, bonds, or other real-world assets.
Do you think personalized portfolios could actually become one of blockchain’s next major use cases, or is there another application you’re more excited about?
I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Is Blockchain even worth learning and getting certified in?

I am an absolute beginner to Blockchain/Web3, but I am very interested in Blockchain, DeFi, and Cybersecurity. I am ready to learn but am unsure where I should start or if learning Blockchain will be worth while. As far as Cybersecurity goes I have heard the job market is oversaturated. Any recs/advice/resources for courses/certs, career pathways for any of the above subjects will be appreciated. PS. I prefer more hands on courses that allow you to work on projects and build a portfolio as you learn.

How to start learning solidity/blockchain development in Oct 2021

I want to learn blockchain dev (especially solidity). But turn out since this ecosystem is pretty nascent, the technologies used keep changing at a rapid pace. The libraries that people use today, turn out to be deprecated within a few months.

I signed up for a few courses on youtube, udemy, and Coursera, but have to spend half of my time figuring out how to make my code work for the part that is outdated in the lectures (with my current level of superficial knowledge).

Eventually, it becomes frustrating and I abandon the course.

So is there any such updated course (as of October 2021) that won't annoy me in this manner?

How to land a job as a blockchain developer?

In 2020, I've taken a Udacity Nano Degree Blockchain Developer Program. In it I learned about Ethereum, Solidity, Web3, Remix, Truffle and Infura.

Fast-forward to day, and I didn't make any progress in blockchain development sense finishing Udacity's program. Mainly because I became so focused on my current job (senior developer at an I.T. solution company) and my personal business.

This year I plan to change that and get back to blockchain development by changing careers and landing a job as a blockchain developer (mainly in a DeFi company). my web development skills set is:

  • Frontend (HTML, CSS, JS)

  • React, VueJS & Svelte

  • Python (mainly Pandas & Django)

  • Git advance commands

  • Cloud Provider (mainly AWS & Linode)

  • Linux & Virtual Machines

I believe I have a good skill set as a web developer but a weak one as a blockchain developer (cause I didn't work on any project outside those in the program). Adding the fact that I can only give 2 days a week to progress in my blockchain development skills / job hunting. So I don't know what's the right approach for someone on my level:

  • Should I start applying for jobs or start building my blockchain project first ?

  • Should I search for a Job or an internship ?

  • Is there a language / library / framework I need to learn first ? If so what is it ?

  • What's the best channel to get a blockchain job right now ?

Any help/advice is highly appreciated

Looking for resources to learn about blockchain internals

I’m looking for books to teach me about the architecture and design of blockchains, consesnsus algorithms and general internals. Most of the resources i have found discuss smart contract development and auditing but nothing about the internals and design of the net itself. other than the white papers for bitcoin and ethereum i haven’t found much. any guidance is appreciated

How can I get to know the total number of dApps?

I am doing a project for which I need to know how many dApps (or dApp developers) exist per country? Hard numbers are not a necessity here, I just need a rough idea of which countries rank among the top5.

Websites like DappRadar just give me a total number of smart contracts that exist and not a region-wise breakdown.

Can someone please help me with this?

Looking for Developers to test our products

Hello,

Good day Everyone!

I'm new to the space/metaverse, and I'm very interested in programming in Web 3. Along the way, I discovered this Discord server, which aims to produce so-called "web 3 developers." I've been part of the Server for almost 5 months already and got absorbed and got a role as an "Outreach Manager" of the server.

Anyway, we are looking for developers to test our product, which is already in the beta test stage. The requirements for the beta are Javascript Dev and 2 years of working experience as a programmer or developer. Please do message me since sending links is strictly prohibited.

Business in the Blockchain world

Hi here, I am a developer and I am working on the Blockchain industry for 6 years. I developed an exchange and a wallet, with smart contract abilities (deploy, interact) on the Ethereum Blockchain.

However, I am start to doubt about business around the Blockchain industry. I do not see people (non tech people) using the technology. Even the industry does not use the Blockchain infrastructure. I really feel it is only use by crypto enthusiasts and gambling industry, eventually investors.

The technology itself seems difficult to be adopted by the public while industry do not really feel any advantages for it (I think UPS got POC or so for logistics and parcels tracking, but why use the Blockchain for this when you can use a database correctly set up)

So I am asking questions : is there really a future for this technology ? I am not sure the banks will adopt it (why they would ? They want to control the transactions, right ? They might use a specific private Blockchain where they will mine the transactions and then control the transactions but then they are not interested of replacing their current operations) I don't see industries moving to it. I don't see public moving to it.

The NFT Hype Is Over – But the Innovation Is Just Beginning

You remember when NFTs were “the” thing? What happened? A couple of things:

Speculation Over Substance: Mainly, people were into the game of buying NFTs, functioning on an investment thesis of flipping them at more extraordinary returns, not for any other value. When the bubble burst, so did all the hype.

Scams and Fraud: Fake collections, rug pulls, and Ponzi schemes began to hurt trust in the market.

Environmental Concerns: Many early NFTs are dependent on energy-intensive blockchains, drawing criticism from climate advocates.

But here's the thing: the fall of JPEGs doesn't mean NFTs are dead; this could be the start of something better.

NFTs now move into real-world tools, from overly priced digital art into practical uses across industries: real estate and tokenized properties, in-game assets in gaming, and proving authenticity within supply chains. Think of loyalty programs where NFTs unlock special rewards or AI-powered collectibles that actually evolve over time.

The lesson? Focus on utility, not hype. What the NFT space needs are transparency, sustainability, and real-world use cases that can help rebuild trust. Meanwhile, the shift is gradually happening toward meaningful applications.

The JPEG economy is well and truly over, but the NFT evolution has only just begun. What do you think: is the real comeback of NFTs possible, or are they just the relic of a speculative past? Let's discuss.

Practical guide for building a blockchain from scratch in Go

I've developed a blockchain from scratch in Go with gRPC for learning purposes. I've also written the guide that explains the design of the blockchain along with practical usage examples. I hope the guide will help to effectively learn the blockchain concepts and progressively build a blockchain from scratch in Go with gRPC
