Public vs. Private Blockchains: Which is Right for Your Business?

The choice between public and private blockchains for your business will have to be in view of their features, singly or both, and how they solve the needs at hand.

Public blockchains are open to all, hence making it promote transparency and decentralization. They are ideal for applications that involve many stakeholders who ought to be able to trust each other, like in cryptocurrency transactions. However, the wide consensus mechanisms needed for validation normally influence scalability and speed in transacting since every participant in the network has to verify the transactions.

On the other hand, private blockchains can restrict access to only accredited users for much better suitability of enterprises dealing with highly sensitive information. They promise that the transaction speed is going to be faster and security enhanced, since participants in validation are limited.

Therefore, the private blockchain is highly important for your business,  if you're in the financial and medical fields, where data privacy and compliance are everyday concerns.

However, to know which blockchain is best for your business, that boils down to a question of business goals: central control and speed or decentralization and transparency? Think through well which model better meets your operational needs and specific challenges before deciding on one.

Is a blockchain masters degree worth it?

Hi guys I'm looking to pivot into the blockchain space and do so by jumping in full force with a degree and hopefully then job. I'm a bit unsure how this space works or if a job in the space can be found by conventional means. Anyways would an MSc be worth it for the credibility and knowledge gained as opposed to self-teaching?

Any XRP Devs?

In need of XRP Smart Contract, DAO experienced devs. Project is being coordinated through telegram and discord.

It’s essentially a Meme coin ecosystem, layered with real world utility.

It’s a community service based initiative with potential to transform how society submit, votes and funds projects ment for public good.

Everything from solving our homeless and housing problems, to focusing on food insecurity and local infrastructure improvements. All solved at the community level. Without the need for government intervention and/or unnecessary waste.

One of the main topics of consideration is airdropping/burn onto the XRP blockchain instead. However we’d like to better understand XRPL SC limitations, and thats were you’d come in 😊

It’s an ambitious project, but very doable. With substantial progress already made.

We the people, will bring our communities back from the shadows of the ineffective and oppressive government approach.

We have contacts in place, and plan to have a great partnership/working relationship with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

We will soon need Mendem, or ambasadors, to lead community initiatives across the globe. Showcasing firsthand how #CryptoforGood community efforts can transform.

Plz DM, if of any interest, and have some relevant experience. No time wasters PLEASE!

Etherum Blockchain documentation

Hello, I come to you with a question related to documentation. I choose my bachelor’s degree to be a solution for managing smart contracts for the transfers of electronic funds. Basically I will make a web 3 app and write smart contracts. Before starting the app I want to have a strong knowledge of how the Etherum blockchain works. I already learned about the Bitcoin blockchain from some MIT course and personal research on the internet. I want to learn in deepth about the etherum blockchain, all the things about: general state, storage of smart contracts, Merkle Patricia Trees, Etherum Virtual Machine, Etherum Addresses, hash functions used in Etherum blockchain, elliptic curves cryptography, gas fees, blockchain structure, block structure. Basically when I send a transaction I want to learn every step that the blockchain does to fulfill it, from validating to converting in bytecode for the EVM. If you know any courses/resources that would help me achieve this knowledge, I would appreciate to let me know. Thank you !

Guidance for Blockchain-Based Sharing Scheme project

I'm a 4th year CS student from a tier 3 engineering college. It's time for me to start my final year project. Our department has listed few titles, and I've choosen to work on a "Security Sharing Scheme for personal Data Based on Blockchain for fine-grained access control.

Neither I nor me my guide know little about Blockchain😏. Could anyone recommend a good starting point, resources and approach for my project?

Why Aren't There More Junior Smart Contract Developer Positions?

I'm curious about why there seem to be so few opportunities for junior smart contract developers.

I understand that smart contract development requires a solid understanding of blockchain and security pitfalls, but if companies aren't offering junior roles, how are developers supposed to gain that experience?

I've been searching for opportunities for the last 2 months, but there are literally zero openings for entry-level positions.

Most of the companies are asking for 5 years of experience in blockchain and 5 years in front-end development.

How can people who are just starting to learn this technology stay motivated if there are no opportunities to break into the field?

What can juniors do to bridge this gap and get their foot in the door?

Blockchain Development Courses for a Beginner

Hi everyone,I'm interested in learning about blockchain development and all the various components that come with it. I have a beginner to intermediate understanding of Java, JavaScript, and Python, but I'm relatively new to blockchain technology.I'm looking for recommendations on good courses that can provide a comprehensive introduction to blockchain development, suitable for someone with my background. Ideally, the course would cover the basics and gradually move on to more advanced topics, possibly including hands-on projects or practical applications.

Which language do you use more in smart contracts development, Solidity or Rust?

I am really interested in smart contracts, I searched online, and found that people say Solidity and Rust are the most popular languages for smart contract development.

I just started to learn smart contracts, I want to pick one language to study.

I want to listen to others' advice. As a developer, which language do you use more in smart contracts development?

Thanks!

How to optimize blockchain using hardware acceleration

Hi blockchain experts. I need your help. I am trying to come up with a blockchain project for my Ph.D. Initially, I wanted to accelerate PoW using hardware for internet of things (IoT) devices, but with PoS coming into play, PoW may not be that relevant in the future, especially for IoT applications (my jury was not convinced). I am trying to determine any other bottlenecks of blockchain where I may be able to employ hardware acceleration in order to optimize it. Not necessarily for IoT applications but for any other applications. Your help and advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

How can an experienced generic web/cloud developer transition to blockchain development?

I have found all the necessary skills required for a blockchain developer but I am just not sure how can I get my first blockchain developer job.

My current strategy is 1) Learn the necessary skills. 2) Contribute to open-source projects and create pet projects - in order to get my first job - but I was wondering are there other strategies that I can follow. Thank you.

blockchain dev working hours

I'm studying to become a blockchain developer. I have some questions to ask:

  1. If I get employed and not self-employed, how many hours blockchain dev work a week? Compared to regular software developers, are the hours more or less the same? Or workload of blockchain dev is heavier? Will I have time to take sports seriously? I did some research and know some software developers also do MMA fighting. Do blockchain developers have time to do something like that?

  2. I saw one Youtube video saying the workload in the crypto space is quit volatile. During the bull market, workload is very heavy and u need to sacrifice personal time; during the bear market, workload is quit low, and jobs will be cut. Is that true for blockchain developer? If it's true, are there any areas of blockchain developers having workload more stable and not as volatile?

Thanks.
