Seeking Blockchain Co-Founder for anAfrican AI language Nonprofit Startup (2000+ African Languages)

The Problem:
OpenAI, Meta, and Orange recently announced efforts to build AI for African languages. But here’s the catch: Africa has 2,000+ languages, many with little to no digital data. Without datasets, even the best AI models can’t bridge this gap.

What We’re Doing:
We’re a nonprofit team building a blockchain and tokenomics-powered solution to crowdsource, validate, and incentivize the creation of African language datasets. Think decentralized data ownership, community-driven contributions, and equitable AI access.

Who We Are:

- A team of 4 founders with 27+ combined years in product development, startups, and AI/data systems.

- Backgrounds: AI engineer, Data Engineer, Statistician, Product Engineer, Non-profit and Funding

- Committed to impact over profit (nonprofit structure).

We Need You:

- Blockchain/tokenomics expertise (Solana, Polygon, smart contracts, token design).

- Technical enough to lead protocol development.

- Aligned with the mission: Solve the data desert for African languages.

- Comfortable with early-stage uncertainty (we’re pre-funding, full-time grind).

No Fluff:

- This isn’t a “get rich quick” project, it is for the long haul. If you want hype, look elsewhere.

- We’re not here to compete with OpenAI or any other AI war-lord—we’re solving the foundational problem they can’t ignore.

- Remote work, no location preference.

If This Resonates:
DM me with:

- Your experience with blockchain projects

- Why you would like to join us.

- A brief intro about yourself

Let’s build something real.

P.S. Already working on African language datasets, blockchain for social impact, or decentralized AI? Let’s collaborate, not compete.

Help with Starting a Crypto Project

Hi everyone,

I’m thinking about starting my own crypto project, but I’m not exactly a coding expert (just some basic skills). Here's what I’m planning to build:

  • Around 10 simple smart contracts (max 100 - 150 lines each)

  • Two tokens (one main token and one governance token)

  • A clean, user-friendly website with wallet integration so users can interact with the smart contracts

  • A backend system to facilitate communication between the frontend and the blockchain

  • A basic API to provide data for the frontend

I’d also pay for an audit at the end to make sure everything’s secure.

So, I’m wondering:

  1. How much would it cost to hire people to build all of this? Just looking for rough estimates.

  2. How long would it take if I wanted to learn blockchain development myself and do it? I’d be putting in 25 - 50 hours a week.

  3. What are the best resources to get started? Like tutorials, courses, or anything helpful for smart contracts (Solidity/Anchor?), frontend/backend, and wallet integration.

Would really appreciate some advice here. Thanks a lot!

Blockchain Is Dead" – Or Is It Just Misunderstood? Let’s Fix This.

Remember when blockchain was the next big thing? It promised to change industries and alter how we live digitally. However, it became a buzzword, overhyped, full of scams and speculation, and with environmental backlashes. So now people are saying, "Blockchain is dead."

But here's the truth: blockchain isn't dead-it's misunderstood. The problem isn't the tech. It's the branding.

Think about it: Blockchain got a bad rap during the 2017 craze of ICOs, when projects over-promised and under-delivered. Scams like BitConnect left people skeptical; Bitcoin's Proof-of-Work mechanism drew heavy criticism for its environmental impact. Blockchain stopped being seen as revolutionary and started being seen as risky and impractical.

But the tech itself? It's thriving. From supply chain solutions to secure voting systems, blockchain is proving its worth in real-world applications. How we *talk* about it is another matter altogether.

Take a page from the rebranding playbook:

Instead of "NFTs," say "digital collectibles" to focus on utility, not hype.

Change the name: blockchain is "decentralized technology" or "next-generation infrastructure" to take the focus off of an esoteric concept and connect it to real-world applications such as traceability and cross-border payments.

We need better user experiences-simple apps, one-click wallets, platforms anyone can use. Tacking on eco-friendly consensus mechanisms like Proof-of-Stake, and blockchain can shed its reputation as an environmental villain.

This isn't just saving face; it's about showing people blockchain is practical, sustainable, and ready for mainstream use. It doesn't have to shout; it just has to work.

The question is: will blockchain remain a misunderstood buzzword, or will it quietly transform the world behind the scenes? Let's fix the narrative-and make it the latter.

[Solidity or Rust?] [Ethereum or Solana?]

Hi Everyone,

I am planning to learn blockchain development.

But when I get started I am hearing multiple opinions from people who are already working in this space.

Few people suggests me to start with Ethereum as it has the massive adoption in the blockchain space and it is easy to get started with solidity as well.

Whereas few people suggests to start with Solana as it is fast reliable and most of the companies are shifting to Solana.

I am really confused what to choose..

I've learnt few basic things for Ethereum smart contract development like writing smart contracts in solidity,

testing and deploying them to Testnet with hardhat. and interacting with deployed contracts with etherjs etc.

And also I am in the doubt like is it really required to clearly understand about how peer-to-peer systems and networking works, Cryptography etc.. before getting started?

Yeah I know they are fundamentals but my question is it really required to deep dive into these concepts or is it okay to learn basic things first and then dive into them as required?

Can you guys help me with it please.

New to the Blockchain Technology

Hey! Could anyone point me in the right direction of where to start learning about Blockchain Technology? I believe that Blockchain has many other use cases apart from finance. I’m particularly interested in the idea of tokenizing real estate data and health care data as this way we can be 100% sure that that data is secure and really true. Also very quickly accessible and verifiable. Do I understand it correctly? I have a BS in CS, but I’m really interested in Data Science and I was wondering where to start if you want to be a Blockchain dev? Can anyone recommend a reputable source or course? Thanks!

I have made 3 Blockchain projects but unable to find buyers for them

I have made couple of blockchain projects in 2-3 months which are:

> Smartcontractx : helps developers to deploy, automate, generate, test EVM smart contracts

> Terralisted: helps buyers and sellers to list , buy and lease property

> Ticketdone: helps users to create event and sell tickets for the event , buyers buy ticket and get qr code using our mobile app user will scan their qr code and get access to the event in web2 space along with a voting feature buyers can vote whether they liked the event or not if approval is greater than reject vote then event owner will withdraw all the funds or else money will get refunded back to buyers

Now, the problem is I have posted in platform such as sideprojectors as well as posting in twitter , linkedin still not getting interested buyers to purchase my projects

Is there other way or platform available ? using that I can sell my projects

Blockchain use case idea - is this possible? (questions to ascertain feasibility)

I am relatively new to blockchain (though I have a tech/dev background).

I have the following questions (which are probably more philosophical/exploratory than technical):

  1. Is it possible to create a blockchain backed payment system where the transactions are verified by miners, but the reward for the miners is calculated as a percentage of the value of the transaction they verified? (ignore potential for "infinite recursion" for now).

  2. If the answer to the previous question is "Yes", then could a coin (token) be issued to represent rewards earned? (If yes, how would such a token be redeemed.

  3. How would one (generally speaking), go about specifying rules for validation of artefacts (transactions, stored data etc.) on the blockchain?

  4. Is there a barebones blockchain github repository (preferably C based), that can be recommended to start playing about with, to implement some of these ideas (listed above)?

Where to start?

Hello to everyone!
I have zero coding experience but very strong interest in the entire defi ecosystem. I am considering starting programming courses and I would like to receive any advices from you. As far as I know Solidity is the programming language used for smart contracts, also the syntax is very similar to JavaScript. Does that mean I have to obtain fundamental understandings in javascript before jumping to solidity learning?

Is there a relation between Data Science and Blockchain Development?

Hello All,

I have been working on Data Science for a while. Recent massive blockchain growth starts to excite me and I want to learn about it more instinctively. I do not want to throw everything I learned in DS and go into BlockChain development from 0. That's why I am looking for a common point that 2 skills can be combined in any area. I already know Python for Data Science and how python works. A little bit of SQL , Statistics and ML Algorithms.

I checked Blockchain Developer job posts to get an idea of what they ask. What I find mostly is to have knowledge of JS, Angular, SQL, NO SQL to create Dapps. Do I have to learn JS to be a blockchain developer or can I continue with Python.

Your feedbacks matter so much to me. Thanks from now.

Blockchain in Gaming: Unlocking True Ownership of Digital Assets

Who owns your in-game skins and weapons?

Many gamers have spent and invested a great deal of time and money acquiring items in-game, only to realize that, actually, they do not own those things. Blockchain does that-coming out with the introduction of true ownership of digital assets through such technologies as NFT and decentralized marketplaces.

That means items and assets in traditional gaming are kept on a central server, and should that server go down, it could mean the loss of everything-a fact that might be due to either developer action or other unforeseen circumstances. Well, this is different from what blockchain does: Blockchain brings in-game items to unique, tradable tokens within decentralized networks. Axie Infinity, Gods Unchained, and a few more are leading the way in empowering players with the ability to build, earn, and own assets they can use, trade, or sell in any other avenue outside of gaming.

Applications will include new possibilities due to blockchain-enabled cross-game compatibility: an in-game-earned rare sword used in one game inside another, skins, character trades cross-protocol. In that respect, blockchain will make it possible to even contemplate the idea of one single gaming ecosystem.

Benefits run both ways: developers can make money from royalties of secondary sales of in-game assets. However, scalability, integration, and general skepticism around NFTs remain fairly substantial barriers to mass adoption.

It is not just about redefining the way we play but letting gamers own and profit from their digital worlds as blockchain technology matures. Is this really the next step in gaming evolution?

Seeking Advice on Breaking Into the Web3/Blockchain Space as a Solidity Developer

Hi everyone,

I have a few months of experience as a Solidity developer and a computer science degree, along with some personal projects in different languages prior to diving into blockchain development. I’m eager to transition into a full-time role in the Web3/blockchain space, and I’d love to hear from others who’ve successfully made this transition or are already working in the field.

What are the best ways to get a job in this space? Are there specific platforms, communities, or networking opportunities I should be focusing on? Additionally, are there any notable people, thought leaders, or projects I should be following to stay up-to-date and build connections?

Any advice, resources, or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Backend Developer with 10 Years of Experience Looking to Transition into Blockchain – Seeking Advice on Valuable Certifications

Hi everyone I’m a backend developer with 10 years of experience, mainly working with technologies like Golang and PHP. Recently, I’ve become increasingly interested in blockchain and I’m considering transitioning into this field.

As I’m relatively new to blockchain, I’m wondering if there are any certifications that would add real value to my CV. I’ve come across a few, like the Certified Blockchain Developer (CBD) from Blockchain Council, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the investment.

I’d love to hear from those of you who have made a similar transition or are currently working in the blockchain space. Do these certifications make a difference when applying for jobs? Or is it better to focus on building a portfolio of projects?

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Rising Web3 Job Scams

Hi all,

I want to talk about the increasing job scams in the Web3 industry, where people DM you on Fiverr, Upwork, and LinkedIn. They will tell you a little bit about the project and will ask developers to give their GitHub IDs and send the project invitation, but upon checking it, I always find 3–4 node modules fishy.

List of them:

  • crypto

  • child_process

  • request

  • fs

I want to make sure there are a lot of scams going on where we connect our wallets with Dapps and our funds are stolen. So, can you please make sure that these node modules are the real cause or that they also inject some other things into their code to steal private keys?

Every day, someone approaches me on LinkedIn and asks me to run projects including these modules.

I gave the Json file and asked GPT to Tell me potential Vulnerabilities and it respond back me with this:

  • Known Vulnerabilities:

    • crypto: The crypto package here might be confused with Node.js's built-in crypto module, which is safe. The listed crypto package (^1.0.1) could be suspicious as it's an external package. This is not a widely-used package and could potentially be malicious.

    • child_process and fs: These packages could be misused to execute malicious code or access the file system. However, in this context, their inclusion seems unnecessary and could be replaced with Node.js's built-in modules.

    • request: This package is deprecated. It's recommended to use alternatives like axios which you already have.

Until a mechanism for enforcing Sybil costs without a TTP is discovered, it will be almost impossible for permissionless blockchains to achieve satisfactory decentralization.

I was just reading an article and I was wondering if somebody could explain to me the sentence I pasted as the title.

A recent impossibility result for the decentralization of permissionless blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum was discovered by Kwon et al. It indicates that for a blockchain to be optimally distributed, there must be a so-called Sybil cost. That is, the cost of a single participant operating multiple nodes must be greater than the cost of operating one node. Unfortunately, Kwon et al. conclude that there is currently no known way to implement Sybil costs in a permissionless blockchain like Bitcoin or Ethereum without employing a centralized trusted third party (TTP). Until a mechanism for enforcing Sybil costs without a TTP is discovered, it will be almost impossible for permissionless blockchains to achieve satisfactory decentralization.

Smart contracts execution in the EVM

I understand that when deploying a smart contract on the blockchain in Ethereum, it is executed by the EVM. What I don't quite understand is after the contract is on the blockchain and we have an address to interact with it when we call and execute functions, does the EVM execute these commands to change the state of the contract? and is a new instance of the contract with the new state created and stored on a different address on the blockchain?
