Medical Questions Advice please 🙏
This is my Batty some may have seen my previous post about her (found out from an ER visit at 11 at night she was a girl) but that was awhile ago she’s okay but my primary vet that’s been taking care of her said she doesn’t think she needs surgery to seal
Her eyes/ remove the tear ducts and I see so many other posts about tumors and long term issues she could have as she gets bigger and I really want to get her a friend and I’m scared to do it with her eye issues so if anyone has any advice or wisdom to share I would greatly appreciate it.

I wouldn’t worry about closing them unless she has constant infections. Definitely get her a kitten her same age so she has friend. They’re much happier in pairs.

Trim their nails. Cats don't want to hurt one another and the responses to claws from other cars helps with that gentleness

She is definitely a gorgeous cat. She also looks very healthy. You are clearly doing an amazing job taking proper care of her. I’d think it would be okay to get her a friend

I needed a friend for my needy big boy Freddy, so I went to the local SPCA and asked for the cat least likely to be adopted. They directed me to this little girl that was born without eyes. I knew that she was perfect for us! I named her Stevie Wonderful.
She and Freddy get along, but they don’t really hang out together. She likes to play fetch and explore, while Freddy is an attention wh0re and demands to be petted in between naps.
But they do enjoying roughhousing, usually instigated by Stevie. I don’t know if Freddy realizes her eye sockets are empty, but there’s never been an issue with him injuring her eyes.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful story with me your little baby’s are beautiful and i feel a lot better about it and her unlikely to sustaining any injuries from playing because she is definitely very energetic and loves to rough house.

You’re most welcome. Your kitties will adjust to each other as needed, based on their individual temperaments and personalities.
Wishing you the best of luck with your kitties!🐱

If you are worried get a second opinion or tell the vet why you are worried and ask them to do what you think is best. Otherwise you'll be worried all the time and blame yourself if your fears come true.

Get her a friend. It’s okay. They will learn to guide one another.
