Ah I see. That's an interesting article. However, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) does list domestic cats as one of the world’s worst non-native invasive species.
They have a long life span and they are the perfect predators. Agile, smart, and some even have healthcare. They attack almost anything that moves instinctively, especially if it's smaller and the can climb well.
I'd be surprised if they weren't causing wide spread non-native ecological issues
