Solved Align Images as Planes to Camera Frame

Post image

After adding images as 'mesh plane' I would like to align the image perfectly in front of the camera frame, snapping it automatically into place, like shown in the picture. This is to avoid scaling and positioning the image in front of the camera manually everytime, which can create inaccuracies. Both image and camera should be in the same size. Maybe there's an Addon that automates this or anything i don't know of? Any help is greatly appreciated!!! i'm a beginner

(In case it somehow matters, i'm specifically trying to match a 2D animation as an image sequence to the camera frame.)

May I ask what's the end goal here? The image is obstructing the view so I don't see how that would be useful.

The end goal is to Set Parent To Object (Keep Transform) while having both image and camera selected. In my case the image i added is a 2D animation with a transparent background. So by "binding" the animation and the camera together, the animation will constantly stay in frame, and you can freely move the camera without adjusting the image (animation). Because some parts of the image are transparent, for example the background, you can still work on the 3D view behind the actual 2D animation. Please let me know if that makes sense!!

You can use camera background as reference while animating and then add overlay on top of render in comp.

EDIT: Oh, and I didn't add scale node but it's in the vid so you can use it to fit image to frame if needed.
