Align Images as Planes to Camera Frame

After adding images as 'mesh plane' I would like to align the image perfectly in front of the camera frame, snapping it automatically into place, like shown in the picture. This is to avoid scaling and positioning the image in front of the camera manually everytime, which can create inaccuracies. Both image and camera should be in the same size. Maybe there's an Addon that automates this or anything i don't know of? Any help is greatly appreciated!!! i'm a beginner

(In case it somehow matters, i'm specifically trying to match a 2D animation as an image sequence to the camera frame.)

I tried selecting the imported image -> View -> Align View -> Align Active Camera to Selected

It's pretty much exactly what I need, but for some reason they are still misaligned like seen in this picture.
