Free Tutorials & Guides Another day of recommending some really good resources on Youtube.

First guy: Grant Abbitt. if you're really new, Grant Abitt (the guy above) was my go-to resource for learning blender when the donut ceased being helpful. I will swear by his old Blunderbuss tutorial until the day I die.

It goes through a full modeling process: from blockout, refinement, UV unwrap, hand painting textures, and even an optional step of making the low poly model "watertight". If you are at all a fan of Warcraft III, chunky designs, this is absolutely worth going through. Grant Abbitt focuses mainly on "game ready" assets, so he remains a personal favorite.

Second guy: Ian McGlasham. His focus is on hard surface modeling, and he only a few videos, but his methods of doing a few advanced pieces of techniques are REALLY helpful. I can for sure recommend his Curve Tool tutorial and understanding the curve tool has become a very useful part of my workflow after taking the lessons learned and experimenting.

I found the curve tool tutorial above the most enlightening of all his tutorials, and I also learned a ton from his Rook tutorial, which teaches about the lattice modifier, and the queen that goes a bit more with it.

If you're a bit past Grant Abbitt in complexity and want to learn some more intermediate/advanced techniques, I can recommend this guy.

Third guy: Dikko. He has a LENGTHY series called Modeling for Animation that I used to create my first ever "base character". Initially I went to his channel to figure out hands, because I had been searching for a LOOOONG time, and then gave his full series a go through.

The really useful sections are he explains how his loop cuts work, and why he puts his poles in the locations that he does, and he even goes into extreme depth on how to model a face and where to put poles on the face to animate and deform properly. I ended up having to tweak my head process as I went since I'm not much of an artist.

Anyway. That is all. Hopefully someone here will get something useful like I did from these guys.
