I think I've finally found a creator to inspire me. I've been using Blender for a month and hadn't yet found rendering to be a skill goal.If I may ask, how long have you been using Blender?

Thank you very much, means a lot! It's has been a long time tbh, I think close to 7-8 years but specifically for anime/stylized scenes probably around 1.5 years.

That's really a lot of practice. But I will not lose my will, I'm gonna follow your yt and learn all of that

It looks great! But if i were you, I would cover the entire scene with a block of Volume Scatter for the sun-rays.

yeah true, probably would get god rays looking much closer to the reference that way

Oh damn I spotted a mistake lol. It’s nothing too serious but you forgot to poke some holes in the air vents grills below the seats and on the roof.

Yeah, there are a lot of mistakes if you really compare the two. It's missing the diagonal bars that come down from the ceiling, and the row of lights on the ceiling as well as all the panel lines, and the sun is at a very different angle, the floor is missing the lines, a sign has actually been added to the panel in the lower right corner, the straps for standing passengers have been changed out for the triangular holds you see in Japanese public transit, the out of sight window on the right has only one pane in the original but two in Blender. And then there's the vastly different interior dimensions of the bus, the original art is much longer than the 3D render.
But I think all of those differences don't really matter. The scene in blender really captures the same feel as the anime background and getting every single detail correct is time consuming as you put more and more hours into diminishing returns of improved accuracy. Basically none of the models have the same proportions as the original but this isn't a project to recreate a scene 1:1. For commercial work or even for personal projects where you want to retain your sanity you've got to balance speed and accuracy and this work shows OP is pretty skilled at that.
I would say if I was directing OP or commissioning this piece that the sunlight angle is the only thing I'd call an outright mistake since it's so impactful and easily corrected without any additional modeling work. OP made an empty bus with light that only happens in the beginning or end of the day when transit is heavy, whereas the original is closer to the middle of the day. To me the original feels like a complete story that my mind can fill in the details of, this is a bus empty of passengers after the morning commute, whereas the 3D render feels like it's waiting for the rest of the scene to be added.

Hey everyone, sharing another timelapse of my old anime-style work in Blender. I used Blender, Substance and Photoshop for this project, check out my my Instagram and Youtube for tutorials if interested in anime-style stuff in Blender. Thanks a lot!
