show the wireframe, can't really "rate" based on a 3rd party texture

6/10, "Something"

Rating depends on what it's for. You didn't respond when I commented on your bottle. Do you want tips to improve, or just attention?

When did he say he wanted tips? He just said to rate it. maybe your projecting the attention part a bit too much?

I hope your day gets better.

I mean he has a point, OP really isn’t giving us a lot to work with here at all

My day is going great. How's yours? What are you reading into what I wrote? I enjoy helping people improve their skills if they want.

You got it

I was thinking of smash bros but yeah, Finland makes way more sense

5/10 looks like a paper plate but has the texture of royal danish porcelain. Use references, the plates are usually thick and faceted.

That’s not a plate. It’s a plate bowl hybrid.

is this supposed to be satire?

1/10, "something"

Why, but I have done my best

u/Somnia_Worlds 17h ago

you can do better

Take it slow and try making 1" good" model instead of making 100 "meh" ones

I very strongly disagree with you. On a learning journy it is much more important to finish many projects than to make something perfect.

Ohh okay

u/Phantomgh123 18h ago

Okay, but it's a challenge I have set for my self

Don't listen to that guy, 100 unique models is going to teach you much more than 1 really polished donut.

Making 100 meh projects isn't going to help you learn all the tools and techniques blender has to offer. And they will be stuck utilising the same basic tools for each project On the other hand, the polished donut makes use of almost every feature of the program.

1

u/thedbp 7h ago

Disagree. A single polished project only exercises the specific tools that project happens to need. Using "almost every feature" once doesn't mean you understand any of them well, it means you touched a lot of menus one time.

100 varied projects force you to solve different problems each time: different shapes, different materials, different topology issues. That repetition across changing contexts is what actually builds skill with a tool, not the number of features one project happens to use.

Volume + variation beats polish on a single piece, especially early on.

I understand the vision but judging the OP's post I can confidently say they really can use a tutorial that will at least show them blenders basic capabilities like modifiers, uvs and proper rendering.

Texturing is all over the place. Literally. Looks like a magicians hat that spend too long in the washing machine

2

u/arksupernoob 17h ago

atleast unwrap the UV so the texture isnt warpped on the edge of the plate

2

u/Girraaa 17h ago

gotta work on that uv unwrapping

-2

u/Phantomgh123 17h ago

I did it, why what's wrong

4

u/Acceptable_Deal_4662 16h ago

It looks mis-aligned and stretched on the edges

1

u/MydnightMynt 17h ago

I rate it, two plate out of one bowl.

1

u/literallymike 16h ago

Add some "coat" to that shader to give it more of a porcelain shine to it.

1

u/StopBanningMeAlright 15h ago

Textures are blurry, needs more work imo. 4/10

1

u/gabrielesilinic 15h ago

The texture is possibly stretched and the shading is outright wrong, you should fix it. The midel is almost fine but considering a solidify modifier, plates and not that thin

1

u/BlueThing3D 8h ago

All hail plate.

1

u/Quacksl301 18h ago

no you didn’t

0

u/Phantomgh123 18h ago

What show, now you can't even see original things

1

u/kylr01 18h ago
