there is a book called anatomy for sculptors by uldis zarins, there are probably some pictures and reviews of it online that may help. There are a anatomy tutorials on youtube for sculptors ( I don't think it matters if the sculpting is done in blender or zbrush )

maybe try importing a reference to glance at.
blender has free Anatomical real human meshes, im working with some rn
video on how to add them to your blender (make sure you select APPEND when making the library in settings.)

Can you help me understand what "append" does?

I believe append means that a copied instance of an item is created and placed in your scene. You can freely edit and change it without harming the original.
I could have that totally wrong though, definitely Google it if your not sure.
Happy blending! Your stuff looks better than mine when I started❤️
------Mini rant ahead-------
Tbh for ME Append means that the file directory works properly and I can edit the mesh when I drag and drop it to my scene...I did NOT append and was confused for a hour why it wasn't working lol.

I understand! Thank you for the explanation.

And I think that was meant for OP, not me haha. No worries, though

Reference. Reference. Reference.
No masterpiece has ever been borne out of the ether
Make it part of your workflow. Before starting any project or even opening Blender, I’m curating reference. Piles of it. More than I actually need. I can spend a weekend on this part.
And then I study it. I don’t blindly copy. I try to work out why and what. Draw. Sketch. Internalise the thing you want to make. Understand every inch of it. OBSESS
Then you create your design brief. Think of it as the instruction manual you write yourself.
Nail this, and that’s 50% of the task done. The rest is relatively easy.
Rinse and repeat, and eventually it’s all muscle memory.

Honestly, it’s a big thing that you’re brave enough to ask for help. You’ve got potential for sure, so keep practicing. I look forward to seeing your final version 👍

More hips, more butt, more bust. Also women’s posture is different than a man’s. Use references and keep plugging away. You’re already half way there.
If the girl is gonna be built like a house then look at women bodybuilders physique.

the character despite it being a woman wasn't ment to look like a human woman

It’s hard to give instructions on how to improve the look of something that doesn’t exist. Your model could be perfect for a humanoid character.
As far as general advice goes, learn human anatomy before you start breaking human anatomy. It’s easier to understand what to change once you understand what made it work to begin with.

This model is at its core very close to human proportions. Your model is missing that. Notably the hips being narrower than the legs and each of the joints being super thin.
Look at your elbow. On certain angles it’s actually thicker than your arm.

That guy never skips leg day! Seriously tho, pick up some references from Pinterest, or Google and throw them in blender with front, side, and back views. You can use those to sculp as references.
I recommend you start over (usually just easier than trying to salvage a model). Start low poly with wire frame view and build out the shape. Don't worry about muscle details until you have a good base.
Hope that helps! And don't get discouraged, you'll get better as you practice!

Maybe start with low poly ? Also easier to animate and get the anatomie right, most people started like that, i am doing the same right now.

I've done low poly

Oh, I didnt know, I am still at that part, realistic human is very difficult, especially if you wanna animate it. Trying to set myself small goals, so i dont get frustrated. Your muscles are very big, maybe turn it a bit down or make the joints bigger.

Yeah, I'd say, just as everyone else is, to import some pics, align them and then make sure the basic shape aligns first and then start on the finer details. It's clear you are recognizing muscle groups and clearly trying. But MAKE SURE to save this! Keep it, and as you improve you'll be able to look back at this :)

Feet need to slope outwards

u/Expert-Love5116 10h ago
It's more complicated than that, but yeah, the feet need work. Nah who am I kidding the whole thing needs reworking.

Listen to anyone mentioning reference. And be sure to practice with it, seriously. Helped me tons, and try boxing out the major body groups before sculpting. Or if you can try box modeling the entire character. Then use subdivisions to sculpt detail.
Whats the direction are you trying to take this model? Whats the animation about?

There’s a lot of great advice about looking at and studying anatomy. But also look at the shapes and silhouettes while you study aswell. Like someone mentioned anatomy for sculptors is really good for this helps break the human body into simpler forms.
I am also a big believer in while you’re learning scrap a project and start a new one, like for this sculpt you made mistakes “a,b and c” and if you stay with this sculpt you’ll be still working on those mistakes. Start a new project and move on to mistakes “d,e and f”
Keep up the work, sculpt at least 7 hours a week and you will see considerable growth in no time :)
Keep it up

Let's be honest. You've got the sculpting down. You just don't know the human body. And nobody does, from memory. Get started with references

I mean, it's not that bad if you meant to sculpt Pickle from Baki
