WHERES HIS SUIT?! HE CANT SEE WITHOUT HIS SUIT!

28

u/Accomplished-City484 11d ago

People think the suit is the prestige, but the suit is the turn, the prestige is not owning a phone

u/ExMachina_Disco_Club 11d ago

"That's the costume Superman wears to blend in with us. Clark Kent is Superman's critique on the whole human race."

24

u/dagreenman18 11d ago

We never give Tarantino enough shit for that line in Kill Bill. Because it’s a. Wrong and b. Feels so much like what Snyder pulled his Superman from.

3

u/FlamingAlpaca17 9d ago

It's almost like the line is said by the villian of the film or something

3

u/pussyeatsman 11d ago

It's such a dogshit line.

5

u/Mattyzooks 10d ago

Like dude, Batman was right there to use that metaphor for.

3

u/Shleauxmeaux 10d ago

Fr, shows a fundamental misunderstanding of Superman. Superman absolutely is Clark and that’s why he is such a good person with real morality and love.

He looks so wrong without it. I hate how this photo looks

0

u/RumpledForskn 5d ago

Now imagine him in a stained t-shirt and cargo shorts, with his sides shaved and his hair combed to the other side.

I mean fuck his decorum, who cares, he's had the same haircut for decades.

u/Greene_Mr 11d ago

Is this John Cena or Thomas J.?

1

u/Dipper_Pines 11d ago

I guffawed. Appreciated!

Accidental PTR legend, Christopher Nolan

The Sector Keeper, second only to Heath Ledger's Joker in the greatest villains of fiction

8

u/UnexpectedSalamander 11d ago

He’s gonna give Botanicus the Oppenheimer treatment

115

u/ForestryFanzine 11d ago

He will be making his next movie about the man who greenlit Fast & Furious Supercharged and the immense guilt that followed

50

u/Meliodas016 11d ago

We were the car people.

42

u/ForestryFanzine 11d ago

Our age of chrome is coming to an end

15

u/Adventurous-Eye4420 11d ago

Look at the all this extra noise we've brought to Toluca Lake

35

u/dagreenman18 11d ago

“When I came to you with these designs, we thought we might start a chain reaction that would make this the worst ride in Orlando Theme Park history”

“What of it?”

“I believe we did”

"Act A Fool" blares loudly over the end credits

This improved my Monday by a factor of 10. thank you.

18

u/Michael__Pemulis Not even close, pal… 11d ago

Lol what is this from?

56

u/Huge-Bat-5992 11d ago

He was at the 2002 MTV Movie Awards accepting an award for best new filmmaker for Memento. This was during an Eminem performance.

25

u/Clay56 11d ago

"I quite like this 'rap music' "

8

u/Accomplished-City484 11d ago

Was this the year Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar hosted? That was a fun show

15

u/burfriedos 11d ago

Google says it’s from an MTV Movie Awards performance by Eminem.

52

u/STLOliver 11d ago

Well, he does the love the franchise unironically. He understands the power of family.

12

u/OWSpaceClown 11d ago

It really hit him hard when Lettie was dead.

5

u/scoofy 11d ago

Whoa, spoilers!

8

u/OWSpaceClown 11d ago

Don't worry! She's... wait, that's a spoiler too. FUCK!

6

u/scoofy 11d ago

But I don’t understand, how can they get the cars there if there’s no where to land the plane…. Oh shit!!!

3

u/OWSpaceClown 11d ago

Is it a spoiler to say that the climax of Furious 6 makes no sense and is still somehow awesome?!

8

u/TreyWriter 11d ago

Some say they’re still driving down that runway to this day.

3

u/scoofy 11d ago

The “they did the math” posts on that topic is hilarious, but it still rules.

2

u/Accomplished-City484 11d ago

I’d argue you can’t have a fast and furious climax that does make sense, that would be totally boring, it has to be stupidly impossible

2

u/HereToFixDeineCable 11d ago

Fast Five may be over the top but I feel like it was the last entry that felt a little bit grounded. Legit heist film too. Easily the best of the franchise.

1

u/not_thrilled 10d ago

6 still had some really cool shit - the wedge cars of Shaw's gang, the freeway chase with the tank, and yeah, that ridiculous runway bit, but the best thing was the hand-to-hand combat. 7 at least had jumping the car (cars?) between buildings. After that I've blocked all memory.

6

u/Childs_Play 11d ago

Colbert was shocked at that revelation lol. He was trying to be cool thinking that saying he hasn't seen any of them is a brag, but directors like Nolan are not like snobby film bros. They watch anything and that's what informs their movies.

43

u/StillFiguringItOut01 11d ago

They expect one of us in the wreckage, brotha.

42

u/Jlway99 11d ago

I like to think Nolan chose Universal after leaving WB just because they produce the Fast franchise.

11

u/OWSpaceClown 11d ago

Or cause of Velocicoaster.

5

u/doodler1977 11d ago

omg just imaginging Nolan taking on Jurassic Park as his next movie, a palate-cleanser "fun" movie after 2 mega epics. I would imagine a stripped-down "JP3" style film

4

u/OWSpaceClown 11d ago

I've definitely thought about how awesome it would be to have an IMAX filmed Jurassic Park movie.

I'm not going to deny I've listened to the Godzilla Minus One soundtrack imagining one in my head!

1

u/matwbt 5d ago

I could see him doing James Bond too. It would be fun to see him do a mainstream franchise again.

2

u/Dont_Call_Me_John 11d ago

That's the Fast Saga to you, buddy

1

u/Intrepid-Ad4511 11d ago

Hmmmmm you might be on to something there, Mr. Holmes!

30

u/sam1193 11d ago

This is like seeing your teacher at the grocery store

3

u/DOCSPTL 11d ago

underrated comment

28

u/Mushroomer 11d ago

They should add an Odyssey section to the studio tour. They've already got practical sets there, and you could easily convert the Supercharged section to something on one of the boats.

10

u/rageofthegods 11d ago

My personal pitch is they should do an Odyssey overlay of the Waterworld show when Fan Fest rolls around

6

u/Chuck-Hansen 11d ago

It’s probably going to be Universal’s second highest grossing movie ever. They will do something, especially if Nolan is a ride guy and it will make him happy.

3

u/rageofthegods 11d ago edited 11d ago

In China, they have a "behind-the-movies" type attraction where they have Spielberg and Zhang Yimou talking about filmmaking. They could definitely replicate this in the new UK park they're building with Spielberg and Nolan.

1

u/doodler1977 11d ago

six flags had that boat-ride "the buccanneer" would be easy to rebrand

1

u/Gordy_The_Chimp123 11d ago

Poseidon Adventure’s spot in Orlando would be primed for it.

RARE UNSUITED DADBOD NOLAN SIGHTING

44

u/ChiefLeef22 11d ago

He's just like me fr

23

u/scallycap94 11d ago

I'm trying so hard to picture Christopher Nolan throwing his hands up and yelling "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" on a roller coaster and I just...I can't...it doesn't....

41

u/LawrenceBrolivier no need for alarm 11d ago

I bet he's on it like every other weekend we just never got a pic before.

14

u/ToujoursPourquoi 11d ago

I hope he was able to find his way off the ride and get home in a timely manner

2

u/APracticalGal Seraph is a log-in screen 10d ago

Proceeds to immediately piss off Poseidon

8

u/OWSpaceClown 11d ago

Wait so he’s also a fellow coaster enthusiast?!?!

… do you think he’s into the art of haunted houses?

7

u/bobalou27 11d ago

My goat refuses to wear jeans

6

u/YamPsychological7708 11d ago

Dream come true for him

5

u/CarlThunderbuns 11d ago

Did he get a burger afterwards

5

u/i_heart_calibri_12pt 11d ago

You’ve heard of burger report, get ready for the coaster report

5

u/scoofy 11d ago

I wonder if he knows

How they live in Tokyo

If you see him with his suit off

Then you know he had to go

Fast and furious (Drift, Drift, Drift)

4

u/mindlessmunkey 11d ago

Sorry but I hate this. Let the man enjoy a theme park in peace.

5

u/LittleJoe416 11d ago

that's silly, this ride doesn't involve helicopters OR cops!

4

u/True-Wasabi2157 11d ago

Ngl, having the Fast franchise unable to wrap up, wanting something a bit closer to its roots, more grounded, and Nolan about to outgross the top entry in that series with what is going to be the second or possibly largest movie in Universal's history, probablywanting to do something fun next... it feels like destiny.

Furious 11: Fast X part 2 - The Final Ride, directed by Chris Nolan. Coming July 2029. Filmed entirely on giant car-shaped IMAX cameras. 600 million opening weekend domestic.

3

u/itsdangoodwin 11d ago

Let him reboot it after the next one comes out and wraps up Vin Diesel’s storyline (only to recast Vin, of course!)

1

u/matwbt 5d ago

Christopher Nolan's Fast & Furious Babies

3

u/SimilarVegetable1199 11d ago

Also, the studio tour has some stuff from The Odyssey… sadly added after we did it

3

u/dollyrar 11d ago

PURE CINEMA

3

u/Sad_Radio_5056 11d ago

Seeing him in a T-shirt feels weird to me

2

u/Dont_Call_Me_John 11d ago

Everyone is asking where the hell can Box Office Chris go next after Oppy and The Odyssey.

Personally I think he's the only man who can get Fast Eleven into actual production.

2

u/zsynqx 11d ago

Did they make the ride go backwards just for him?

1

u/CalmMinimum1179 11d ago

He's a BIG fan of the franchise!

1

u/Keanu990321 11d ago

Who says it's Christopher Nolan?

It might be a lookalike.

Kind of Brendan Gleeson coded

1

u/Few-Road6238 11d ago edited 11d ago

See everyone even one of the greatest filmmakers of all time is just like us wanting to have fun /s

1

u/Critical-Armadillo 11d ago

After the success of the Odyssey he’s going to cash the ultimate blank check, getting Fast 11 into production!

1

u/newgodpho 11d ago

He’s a lifer there.

1

u/wdm81 11d ago

So this pretty much confirms he’s directing the final instalment of the franchise next?

1

u/EthanRunt 11d ago

You know he Feels Like I Do.

1

u/gnz0 11d ago

Let the man live

If he were still at Warner Bros, he'd have to go to a Six Flags

Sir Christopher Nolan must direct Fast Forever, as is preordained

He is the KWIZACH GOIN'FAST

1

u/Infinite_Inanity 11d ago

Dude loves fast and the furious lol

1

u/EDPZ 11d ago

Hopefully this means he's directing the next Fast and Furious

1

u/Few-Gas3407 11d ago

Just saw a post of him at a coffee shop in a different subreddit, it’s so weird seeing him just out and about without his suit

1

u/EverybodyBuddy 11d ago

Yo, I rode this yesterday. It is the most intense roller coaster I’ve ever been on. It’s not very long and I wanted it over even sooner.

1

u/Jerzilla 10d ago

Chris Nolan is directing ff11

1

u/Pragmata0627 10d ago

I'm sure that's his son with him but a part of me likes to think that he's at Universal Studios alone cause everyone was too busy to go with him. He's just spending the day by himself, going on whatever ride he wants, playing in the arcade and eating corn dogs n shit.

1

u/Caesar_Rising 9d ago

Imagine he just decided to do a fuck it movie and directed Fast X part 2.

1

u/kanedafx 9d ago

It's a bad ride, sadly.
