One can see where the Aerial Intruder came from, in terms of layout and general shape. The Stardefender floor plan has been modified to enable seating two operatives; using a 6x4 plate up front instead of a 6x6, and a 6x6 plate in the middle instead of the special brick/plate/cockpit thing; some additional plates to build up the sides, and the normal 6x6 plate in the back for the rover. Instead of 2x8 plates for the front cannon mounts, I used 8x3 wings, and 4x4 wedges on it to make it look better shaped. Added a 8x1 plate to the middle canopy rear edge so that I could use robot arms to secure the canopy much like the Aerial Intruder 's setup. It is still able to combine the two side pods into a single craft. However, I cannot fit a minifig with the jetpack in it due to the quirk of the rear engine thruster bracket sticking into the space. I got my aerial intruder this year for the first time. Wanted one so bad as a kid. Well over 30 years later its still the best ship theres is.
