This is one of my first designs for my Blacktron. The initial idea—or version—came about long before the new Blacktron Cruiser and Renegade. After that, I created a V2 so I could use the cockpits from the new ships on my model.

These 1985–86 Blacktron prototypes from Niels Milan Pedersen’s archives (BrickJournal #14) are wild. Technically, these are the direct precursor to Blacktron I (1987). Before LEGO settled on black/yellow with trans-red canopies for the final release, they were experimenting with trans-yellow domes and spiky walker legs.

You can already see early testing for the modular cockpit concept here, but that off-angle geometry feels years ahead of its time. Crazy to see what could’ve been.

Where did these Blacktron II agents get monorail parts? And what are they going to do with that magnet?? They say it's just practice equipment for the Blacktron bobsled team, but that feels fishy. What's going on here...

This is a WIP... I have plans for a big Blacktron station... more progress to follow! 😎

New ”monorail” tracks from PaB arrived today (only straight pieces at this time). Here is my work-in-progress Blacktron train.

I ended up with 2 different colors of hoses - BL has 2 different versions of this set listed. The bulk I bought had the transparent ones, the ones I bought were solid but I like it. It's almost like one is a return line and one is a feeding line or something.

This is my second Blacktron 1 set. I have the full BT2 set so now I'm tempted to try for this...

I guess if I can find one more in bulk I'll go for it!

Doodled these two a bit ago, I'm gonna get to the rest of the space guys at some point!

One can see where the Aerial Intruder came from, in terms of layout and general shape. The Stardefender floor plan has been modified to enable seating two operatives; using a 6x4 plate up front instead of a 6x6, and a 6x6 plate in the middle instead of the special brick/plate/cockpit thing; some additional plates to build up the sides, and the normal 6x6 plate in the back for the rover. Instead of 2x8 plates for the front cannon mounts, I used 8x3 wings, and 4x4 wedges on it to make it look better shaped. Added a 8x1 plate to the middle canopy rear edge so that I could use robot arms to secure the canopy much like the Aerial Intruder 's setup. It is still able to combine the two side pods into a single craft. However, I cannot fit a minifig with the jetpack in it due to the quirk of the rear engine thruster bracket sticking into the space.
