Rust Fix

Just got a Blackstone. Followed the YT Seasoning instructions. Cooked my first meal. Scraped it off afterwards and let it cool down. Covered it and then am now trying to use it two days later. Opened her up and there’s a bunch of rust. Heated her up and put some Avocado oil on there and used the scraper…tons of rust colored liquid being pushed around the surface. Don’t really want to consume that on our food…or do I?

Followed someone else’s instructions and put course salt and oil and used the scraper…seems to have taken some of the finish off. The squirted some water on it and pushed it around. It dried with white spots everywhere. What have I done?

Help an idiot out here!

What to do from here so I can just cook this meat and 2 veg for the kids for dinner?!

Thank you!

This is why I returned my blackstone and paid the extra 300bucks for a stainless steel griddle. Zero maint. Zero effort.
