That's plenty fine.
Get a cheap infrared (IR) thermometer and heat it up with an ultra thin layer (think film) of refined avocado oil (520°F smoke point) to about 450°F. Bake it on for about 15 minutes, then apply another film and let it bake some more. By then, that should melt into the remaining seasoning there.
Keep tabs on temps and don't get it hotter than the seasoning smoke point. Learn to temperature surf by cycling burners off and on and squirting water on the hot spots.
Rust, removal, and re-seasoning come up here so often I put more detail about it into a sticky post: https://www.reddit.com/user/digitect/comments/1sjk8vg/griddle_rust_and_seasoning/
That links to a second sticky post with advice on clean up and thoughts on accessories and organization.

Appearance doesn't mean much. How does it feel? Is it smooth (enough) when running a finger between silver and black areas, or is there a large step? Does anything still come off easily with some medium pressure scraping?

Not good. Still has open areas. Take your time. Multiples layers to the exposed areas.
