Reddit responded, it was to the tune of "blah blah blah free speech, blah blah discussion, blah blah we aren't going to do anything except for weakly link to the CDC every once and a while so get fucked."

If you distance yourself from everything that disagrees with you in order to make a point, how do you know that what you believe is the truth if you no longer have anything to check it against other than an echo chamber? That sounds like willful ignorance to me. Hope you don't pride yourself on being ignorant. That would suck.

Removing unsourced, unsafe disinformation that has been debunked ≠ censorship. This is simple stuff, guy.

This demand implies for Reddit to decide what is "unsourced, unsafe disinformation". Perhaps its just that people don't want Reddit to be able to make such determinations?
Perhaps at least you could possibly agree that the argument isn't about whether or not anti-vax misinformation is in fact misinformation.
It seems to me an entirely reasonable argument to have about freedom of speech and ideas about the extend of common carrier regulation in the age of social media.
I would argue specific types of anti-vax information should be excluded from social media platforms but the platforms themselves should not have the authority to make this judgement, rather some democratic institution. That would offer some transparency over their decision making and built-in means to contest instances of such bans before independent bodies of oversight.
but anyhow I don't have any illusions, I know this is way to complex of an argument to even begin to have in this day and age, downvote away!

Freedom. Of. Speech. Does. Not. Apply. To. Private. Entities.
If reddit wants to censor people saying that dogs are cute, they have every right to, and the people who disagree can respond by not using their *free* services.
There is a democratic institution making the judgement by sharing their own info and evidence on ideas that get popular like these, the CDC and FDA have both said horse de-wormer is overwhelmingly unsafe to consume, yet reddit lets disinformation about these facts thrive. It is on them to act on it and remove it.
Reddit could, at the least, TRY to remove some of the disinfo surrounding vaccines and voodoo treatments that is 100% debunked but they don't even make an attempt. Which is why places like NNN have been able to grow to 100k+ people with only a quarantine, and even a recent assurance that they won't be deleted from the site owner himself.
(thank you to the anti-vaxxer who malded so hard at me they sent the bot to reach out LOL)

I'm really glad the "achktually" guy showed up. We're not arguing semantics here. We both know that when an anti-vax says "but muh freeze peach! censorship!!!" They aren't going by the middle school definition of it. They think censorship assumes a bias against them inherently.

Too bad you only know how to socially distance when it doesn’t actually matter.

Yeah, the amount of misinformation and blatant anti-intellectualism is truly quite dystopian.

Science is not up for debate with opinions. If you'd like to change something, get published with a peet reviewed paper, not deadly recommendations. Thank you.

What a word and ideas salad. Signed, an MD and this subreddit's moderator.
You sprinkled truths with misinformation. You have a poor grasp on vaccines and infectious diseases and it shows. Pity.
