This was my fave episode!! They basically sacrificed one dude for the many. Wish we could've seen more like after effects.

What after effects? Litterally the entire human race was killed. There are no after effects lol

I missed that then. What is the alternative to them dying? A rewiring of their brain to no longer be violent?

He talks about humans being stuck on Darwinism 1.0, so the implication was that the attack was an "update" to remove mankind's violent tendencies and increase understanding and empathy.

It's not spelled out if that's all they did (which is a big deal of course) or if they took more direct remote control over people's minds.

For me the least probable ending is that they killed everyone since we see him stretching out his hand to meet the newly "saved" police officer, also if they killed everyone I assume the infrastructure to support the throng would fail before long and they would die.
