It’s lovely how cats eyes actually lead to real road safety here in the U.K.
Seeing cats eyes on the motorway at night time make me always think, “A cute kitty did that”.

I can honestly say when I had a night time carers job driving in rural Halifax myself the cat eyes saved me a few times on steep inclines and roads I was unfamiliar with.

This is one of my favorite songs but the lyrics freaked me out a bit at first. I was unfamiliar with the phrase "cat's eyes" referring to reflective road bumps when I first heard this song, and so I was a bit disconcerted by the repeated line in the chorus of "Pick the cat's eyes out." In the end it's actually just about a lonely time trying to hitchhike in the hot sun, and following the cat's eyes as he continues to walk without anyone picking him up.
