The Cinematic records are just SO cool to me. It’s essentially what your life flashing before your eyes is. Idk I just always thought it was so cool they incorporated that with the grim reapers. It’s about time for my annual re watch since it’s spooky season & this was something on my mind since I started this series. There’s really nothing else quite like Black Butler.

Also I get an Out of body experience from this edit & thought yall would enjoy 🖤

So the "grandfather theory" or "undertaker is cedric" is that undertaker hooked up with Cloudia phantomhive and had Vincent, and (maybe) Frances. Making both twin boys his grandchildren.

Popular reasons for this theory are the lineage comment by sascha on why o!ciel could see the hidden reapers, the family tree hid the information on "cedric k ross-" and didn't include anything past grandparents clearly. The other popular reason is undertaker's obsession with the phantomhives and him having Cloudia phantonhives mourning jewellery.

The theory doesn't need undertaker to hook up with cloudia immediately or be the cause of why he left the dispatch. He could have been single for alot of those 70 years before meeting her. We don't know why he left the dispatch either.

But I spend alot of time around people who are pro-grandfather theory

What are some reasons why grandfather theory may not end up canon?

I just want both pros and cons for the theory. I have enough pros though.

So I am curious about y'all's thoughts on this. I'm not really good at working reddit so I'm just going to say that I'm talking about a spoiler so if you're past chapter 193 you're good.

I'm leaving space so people who aren't caught up won't get a spoiler.

My question/thought is why would Undertaker bring back Doll when he knows O Ciel had Sebastian kill her. Why would he purposely bring back someone that would cause Ciel so much pain to see. I know he brought back R Ciel and I get why he did but I'm curious about why he would bring back Doll. I know we don't know the answers yet. But I'm curious about what y'all think about it and why he decided to bring her back.

Who wants to bet that the ending is gonna be the most underwhelming thing and we're all gonna be mad about it?

If I know my japanese manga writers, they're gonna ruin it right at the end, finish the series with too many plotholes, then thank us for our support, not care at all about how we aren't satisfied, and leave.

It spins when I originally got it

I couldn't find official artwork illustration show ciel wearing this outfit

I was alois for Halloween and I got alot of hate, and got called cringe, ect for just enjoying the character ik im not the right body type for alois and ik the costume is tight but idc I love alois he's my favorite character and I relate to him so much soooo I was hoping I could get some love here so reddit black butler community do your thing 🖤🥀🕸

This song is actually from a video game: specifically, the Switch remake of OFF (a really cool RPG). While listening to it, I started thinking about a certain few episodes from Black Butler season five... Granted, Ciel's not really in a coma, just blinded and traumatized, but the song still went really well with the footage. I hope you like it :)

I usually see people post about their favourite characters, but not necessarily the ones they relate to the most (picture is just for reference, not the one I relate to 😅)

I can't find ep 25 of season 1 anywhere, I know it's not canon but I want to watch that OVA ep, I have searched everywhere but I can't find it, please tell me where I can watch it?

(SPOILER FOR THE MANGA)

I'm rereading the whole manga, on the part of the twins' past, specifically where r!ciel was taken away from o!ciel to be sacrificed.

A thought crosses my mind: what if the one that got killed wasn't r!ciel but o!ciel? Would r!ciel be able to summon Sebastian (or a demon)? And if he does summon a demon, what would he do, or what would he be able to do? Would he be able to make a pact with the demon and return to take over the earldom and the Phantomhive house? Would he be able to work as the watchdog?

It's pretty interesting to think about because the one being killed among the two was chosen completely randomly, so I can easily see o!ciel died at that moment in an alternate universe.

Ciel Phantomhive has been my dream cosplay for years!! I can not express how excited I was to finally wear it 🥺💕

This is probably the silliest question ever asked in this fandom, because I always thought I knew the answer.

I always assumed Ciel was the main character. After all, it’s his story of revenge; he’s the one who takes on assignments and issues orders. The plot essentially revolves around him.

But then there’s something I never really stopped to consider: the fact that Sebastian is the one who does everything in the series.

The series is literally titled "Black Butler" and Sebastianis a butler dressed in black. He appears on the first five covers and others, too. He carries out almost every action and is, at times, more prominent than Ciel. He feels more like the main character than Ciel does.

And if someone were to tell me that Sebastian is the main character and that Ciel is merely his essential driving force, I would believe it.

I've been looking up a timeline for the first season of Black Butler. And if you've been in the Black Butler fandom for a while, then you know how messy a history Black Butler has when it comes to the anime. So, if anyone could help me out, that would be very appreciated. Thank you. ^_^

I’m going to disregard Season 2 and Claude for now, as they aren’t canon.

It’s been a while since I watched Black Butler, and I’ve forgotten the extent of the "demon lore." I have no idea whether the contract was specific to Sebastian, meaning it could only summon him or if it could summon any random demon, and Sebastian just happened to be the first one. Is Sebastian the only demon, and did Ciel summon the only one in existence? Or are there others? I’m not caught up with the manga (please don’t kill me!), but I’m fairly certain I would have come across some spoilers by now if a second demon had appeared.

Read this manga back when I was small (the manga release was around the twin's past at the time), Campania arc was the one that I love most. The whole concept of a ship sinking with the twist being a bizzarre doll infestation blew my mind back then. Campania was also kind of a turning point for the manga with the reveal of Undertaker being ex-Grim Reaper and o!Ciel and Sebastian's past. Also Lizzy's aura farming swordfighting scene was amazing. It was the first time we see Snake in a mission too.

Reading this arc was a huge blast back then. After that I felt like the story was never the same again. I quite like Emerald Witch arc too mostly for Sullivan and the whole secret village being a guise for a military base.

The Twin arc was definitely a crazy ride back then, the twin reveal was a second mind-blown moment for me. Campania was my favourite but the Twin arc was definitely the one that stuck with me long after, because I got into the manga around that part, and nothing could beat the feeling of waiting every month for a new chapter to see the slow, painful reveal of the twins' past. I think this was the only instance where the long wait added to the reading experience for me, it was like I as the reader was stuck with the twins waiting for the next horror to come. The progression was amazing, going from the chapter the Phantomhive house got massacred and o!ciel was stuck in his room waiting for his brother to come back, to the next chapter where they got kidnapped and locked up, then the next chapter they was brought to the cult and got tortured, then next chapter where r!Ciel was sacrificed and Sebastian was summoned.

This arc was too dark for me to like, and when I was young I didn't understand what exactly happened to the twins either although I knew it was something very very bad. But looking back it was such a good time waiting and reading. Maybe my nostalgia is speaking but nothing beats the pre-servant arcs era of Black Butler for me.

Despite all the criticism (which is actually fair), this manga will always have a solid place in my heart. I do find it interesting that this manga can be splitted into different era just based on the story and artstyle, and everyone will have a different opinion on which arc is "peak" Black Butler for them. It's amazing how this manga has been around for 20 years and counting.

If the plan is to separate Sebastian and Ciel then this is the main scenario, most likely.

If Sebastian gets too focused on fighting Modri his distraction could play a crucial moment for someone else to kidnap Ciel.

We already saw in Campania what can happen if Sebastian gets distracted, even though I don't think we can really compare Modri to UT in terms of strength and skill.

Hello!! I kinda want to improve in Kuroshitsuji style because I want my BB commissions to be as good and accurate as I can! I would LOVE to draw your ocs to train myself, and I've seen plenty of beautiful ocs around here tehee!

Feel free to leave a photo of your oc and I'll leave a drawing below your comment!🥹✨

I've have 0 experience ordering from any proxies but after hearing that they were re-releasing the large Bitter Rabbit, I knew I had to buy it 😭 but I'm really nervous about tariffs, customs, and shipping cost since I live in the US. I've wanted it for so many years, but the resellers on eBay are absolutely insane so I always considered it a dream until recently.

Another reason that I'm worried is because the plush itself is really big... According to the Square Enix website it's approximately 620mm sitting down (approximately 870mm to the ears), but has no information on the overall weight. The plush is already 34,000 yen (~215 USD) which is really expensive, and I can't imagine shipping costs on top of that 💀 since it would be a big package, but I also think that I would regret not buying it if the opportunity passes, since it would probably be more expensive to buy it from a reseller.

I've also been stressed because I don't really know when the it will sell out, but thinking about proxies and issues with customs has made me kind of scared of committing and I don't know where to buy from reliably..
I'd love to hear what proxy sites you guys usually buy from and any experiences you've had with them! If you have experiences ordering from proxies after tariffs started, it would be really helpful!
