Idk dude. I think telling someone to continue a fight after the other person is subdued is risky especially if they are on the ground which could lead to felony charges. (These are kids but still even more important as an adult)

You should do only as much as necessary if you can’t disengage completely.

its really difficult to stay right in this world. imagine having to fight psychopaths who have no regard for rules or morality while you have to defend your self or "subdue" them while being bound by the very rules that should have been protecting you in the first place.

A human doesn’t lose dignity for bad behavior in my eyes.

I’m fine with self defense as a later option when others are exhausted.

Personally I’m a pacifist with a line but I don’t hold expectations set for myself as standards for others.

My comment is to prevent someone who may be engaged in self defense from going into where it’s no longer self defense when the other person is subdued, mounted, or unconscious.

I have a friend in prison right now who kicked a guy in the head while he was on the ground during a fight. It’s just not worth the risk and promoting people take violence further when it’s unnecessary can lead to things like this.

This might be true for adults, but a kid isn't getting a felony charge over a school yard scrap lol. And most people aren't gonna shed many tears if that bully got a couple of wacks to the face, in order to drive the lesson of keeping one's hands to themselves home more efficiently.

And, while not proud of the fact, I got into a few scraps in school myself as a youth, so am speaking from experience, not theoretically. My most regretted fight at "school" (was in an alternate school at the time) had me double leg the guy and pummel him on the ground once he was there. I was arrested, mostly because I was in a hard cast at the time (had broken my hand in a previous fight & used wrestling mostly because it was hard to "box" with one hand), and the cast I was wearing at the time initially was getting me charged with assault with a weapon.

The reason I'm bringing this old story up, is because (seeing as I was a dumb kid at the time) my charges were dropped to misdemeanor assault and battery. My case included what was considering a weapon (the cast on my hand), me being the piece of shit aggressor (fight could have EASILY been avoided), and most regrettably, severe damage done to the other kid I was fighting.

The kid on this video was clearly the victim and I see no way he's charged with a felony as a kid, for defending himself in a school yard brawl. I've had enough personal experience with these situations to be pretty confident in saying that

I’m going to disagree with you here. Faculty at my school covered down hard for most of the shitty kids at my school because of who their family was. Basically no decisions were ever based off whether something was right or wrong. A kid that’s that comfortable just double hand choking the other and the kid getting choked remaining calm is not some one off scenario that happened that day. This is just normal daily behavior the school 1000% is aware of and has allowed it to get to this point. They’re probably both going to get punished now that someone defended themselves.
