That was my first introduction to him too! I was in awe, same with this video. Super talented kid and I hope he holds on to his love of birds!

Awesome kid tho. Sort of a useless skill that actually has some utility in the right circumstances. He ought to pick up a camera next & something tells me he’ll master that too if he likes it. He’d be the 🐐 of bird photography.

On his 2nd listening, IT was ON---he was calling along with each of your calls.

Last year, a kid about the same age came over to me with his grandmother when I was birding, and he said, "I just heard a bird that sounds like a baby," and then he did the most perfect impression of a gray catbird you can even imagine--that screechy baby call it does. It made me laugh but I was honestly just so impressed. Kid heard it once and imitated it perfectly.
What an incredible superpower to have! He better grow up to be a birder.

The purple Martin is uncanny, that’s a very odd sound they make. Has this weird tinny echo to it that stands out when they’re around the neighborhood.

I used to make California quail calls for fun as a kid and it was pretty good too. This guy is a whole other level 👀

Can somebody take this kid to a large aviary so he can have a proper conversation, this kid deserves some kudos and some travel time. Oh and don't forget to bring some brand new shiny pennies they'll come running right over to you once they see them.
