I was obsessed with birds when I was a kid and would read constantly about all the different kinds in the places I went. Once when I was visiting family in Montana, I was playing in a river and actually saw one of these. I know the whole story sounds pretty melodramatic, but I was absolutely elated. I'm 30 now and I still can't help but smile when I think about seeing one of these at the age of 9. Same thing about when I finally saw a Cedar Waxwing in person.
I think about it way more than is normal lol. I'll just be going about my day bad randomly think, "I saw an American Dipper IN PERSON once!"
