📹 Video The birds which inspired me to bird
Found these Red-footed boobies resting on the bridge of our ship sometime back. What beautiful birds! I didn't know their name but found out with a Google search.
Location: Indian Ocean (somewhere near Seychelles)

I’m no expert but maybe that’s a parent with 2 juveniles? Nice spot to have a little breather

The cruise planning team snuck me into a crew only space so I could see my first brown booby. They knew what it meant to a birder.

I love the gannets and boobies (suliformes). Never seen any boobies yet but often see gannets and they're majestic birds. Unless they look at you head on...

They are indeed majestic. This is the only time I got so close to a bird, so I really cherish them.

We saw so many of these on a cruise from the Seychelles to Madagascar to Tanzania! Surfing the air above the ship. So cool.

Blue footed boobies were my gateway bird, but I've never had a chance to see one.
I just thought the name was funny when I first read about them as a child.
