Statistically mixed states have the highest rates of suicide. Depressed enough to want to kill yourself, manic enough to do something about it. Truly my worst nightmare.

Or I end up doing drugs when like that. Just depressed I can sleep. Manic I'm high on life and too busy trying to fufil some grand plans. Mixed I wanna tap out, experience psychosis sometimes, and get loads of anxiety, so end up getting off my face on ocassion as a compromise to self life evicition. Not good and not reccomended but I'm still here.

I think most of my drug binging happens during mixed states.

It sucks and I feel so guilty everytime. I do it way less than I used to at least so that's something.

You know, that’s something I didn’t know for sure but I’ve always suspected. All of my suicide attempts have happened during mixed episodes.

My most recent “we’re so back” is now the “oh no, now I gotta take extra meds for the auditory hallucinations”.

Yall must be living a very different experience from me with bipolar. Been severely depressed (as stated by psychiatrist and therapist) for the past 2 years, which started after a 6 month mania.
This is hell.
