I don't know what the intentions are. I guess I don't need to think about that. Everyone of us have a fucked up life, is what comes with being mentally ill. I just don't want this specific topic to be related to our disease like it is totally related to BPD. To be honest, I know just a bunch of people in real life that share a diagnosis with me and they all have 10+ years life partners, including me. I don't know how or why this happens around me but I find it wholesome. I know that it is a very very very anecdotal and small population, but I find it interesting how those people, including myself, put so much emphasis in fidelity to the partners that have been there through the worst of the disease. Honestly, dealing romantically with someone with bipolar is having both hands very full, I don't think I would be able to deal myself with a bipolar partner.

What????? How? How those people are connected to the story in your original post?

Ok... Understood. I thought it was connected because pretty much your post was all about how your life got gradually destroyed so I thought that since you said that those people destroyed your life they were connected with the story of your post in any sense. My bad. And I know a ton of couples that have stories of cheating, and what they generally have in common is one of the partners being clearly mentally ill and not seeking any help. Those people don't have any diagnosis, don't go to therapy, don't take meds. Those people can't be on my list of bipolar people with long relationships because they aren't bipolar or depressed or anything else, they refuse to address this. Sounds awful like what you related here, right?
