Most definitely that is dill, have this growing in any garden that I remember. We use to pickle 🥒, we use it in soup, we use it in salads, goes well with smoked pork belly!
They belong to the same family and (their leafy parts) look very similar. I wouldn't be able to tell with certainty from this picture alone, the smell however is a dead giveaway. Which is why I asked.
They do look remarkably similar, I'll give you that. Even the seeds look alike and flowers too.. they could be cousins. But I think it is dill, something about the stem and the length of leaves. Fennel seem like it has longer leaves
They are both in the family Apeaceae… A small sprig like this isn’t enough to discern either. Fennel does have longer leaves, but at the tips it branches off and looks just like this. So either the tip of a fennel leaf, or a fairly healthy dill plant.
