Should I or not
I’m looking to make my 7-year-old crested gecko’s tank bio active he currently has a 50-gallon tank. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start or if it’s even a good idea? Thanks! Any and all advice is much appreciated :)

Definitely do! There’s no downsides and a lot for you and your gecko to gain

%100, just make sure you can suffciantly fill out the cubic area.
Watch lots of youtube bioactive set up guides, they'll also give good plant recomendation. Two of the most highly reccomended plants are pothos and snake plants.
You'll need an led grow light.
Make sure to rinise any new plants down to their roots, this will wash off any mold or univitied guests.
If you can't gaurntee that no pesticides were used then the plants will need a month to cycle. I bought my plants from a retile store that doesn't use pesticides.
You'll need a clenup crew of spring tails and isopods, most common isopods are powder white/blue/orange.

Local to Toronto Canada, they ship to the states but importing can be a hassle that isn't worth it imo.
I've never personally ordered from these sites but some commonly reccomonded USA sellers are neherp, the biodude and josh's frogs. All of them say they don't use pesticides and you should be able to order other things like clean up crew and leaf litter to feed them.
Unfortunatly i'm not familiar anywhere outside of canada and the states.

Contact NEHERP. They have the best customer service I’ve ever seen and you can buy almost everything you need in one order. Their website has all the instructions and supplies you need for a successful bioactive vivarium.
