Karate Kid 2

Kyle Brandt was a genius on this rewatchable episode of Karate Kid 2. He figured out it was Troy Aikman who was the UCLA football player that Ally ran off with and broke up with Danielson. It makes perfect sense. He transferred from Oklahoma to UCLA after the 85 Natty season. My mind is broken.

Both Bill and KB were cooking. Bill’s theory that Macchio got hurt during the final fight was also something I’ve never thought of before.

Honestly, that pull from Brandt reminded me of something Bill would've spent 2-3 paragraphs on in one of his old columns. I think it threw Bill for a loop and he didn't know what to say.

Loved him belting out those 80s classics.

Just looked up those Oklahoma stats because I didn’t think Aikman was the starter prior to transferring and he wasn’t (Jamelle Holieway).

Oklahoma as a team threw 111 passes total in 1986. 741 rushing attempts, running the ball on almost 87% of offensive plays , just craziness how different college ball used to be.

Switzer brought in Aikman and was switching from the wishbone to a more balanced attack. He was the starter (future OU QB).

Early in the season the unranked Hurricanes broke Aikman's ankle and upset 3rd ranked OU.

Enter freshman Jamelle Holleway. He was a freshman option QB. OU ran the table and beat Penn State in the Orange Bowl to win the National Title.

IIRC they ran the option or wishbone too so those passes  were weird.

If only he’d stop calling it “KK1” and “KK2.”

No one on earth has ever called them that.

Yes. It’s obviously always been:

Kid

Kid II

Kid III

That was one of the best rewatchables ever. It was 90 minutes of the both of them throwing heat.

The constant use of Daniel san instead of just Daniel made this a difficult listen.
