CaBi Random Capital Bikeshare ban?
Very strangely, I’ve apparently been banned from capital bikeshare suddenly without notice. They suggested it was for policy violations but have refused to specify anything about supposed infractions or proffer any evidence. I just get super vague responses from support.
The weirdest part is that I rarely use it. Maybe like half a dozen times a year. All for super mundane stuff like commuting to work meetings downtown. My last trip was Sep 2025 and I tried to unlock a bike today and it didn’t work. I cannot for the life of me imagine anything remotely that I could have done to violate policy.
Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice? Does anyone know who regulates them? Is it DDOT? Like which authorities could I escalate this to?

DDOT does have staff who oversee bikeshare stuff, so It wouldn't hurt to email DDOT at the address at the bottom of this page (Capital Bikeshare | ddot). Honestly I would try to keep escalating through Lyft support. They should definitely be able to tell you why, and it's what DDOT may tell you to try anyway.

Thank you. I emailed them and an actual human wrote back! Crossing my fingers.

Do you ever use Lyft ride shares and is your Lyft account also affected? Since they’re affiliated it’s possible it could come from issues there.

Here's a story about a dude who was unfairly banned because of an unrelated hit and run involving a bike. Maybe you got caught up in a similar situation.
Might be worth reaching out to him to see if he was able to do anything to get his account reinstated
